After my (novice) welding and much (expert) grinding I bolted everything together and it fitted! I was mildly surprised but secretly pleased as I lined everything up by eye and and marked the parts. Tape measures were minimal I had it powder coated and turned my attention to the mounting bolts (which I cut too short .... Doh!)

I ground the old mounts out using my Dremmel and fibreglassed new longer stainless 8mm bolts back in using a washer to increase the surface area being held. |

I made new, thinner brackets out of 3 x 12 mm stainless steel bar. I also bought two stainless right anle fixing brackets from Motobins to include some form of rubber vibration damping which I didn't have before. |
