Notice: We do one-on-one in car training. (not three-on-one)
  • 10 hours in the car means 10 hours behind the wheel. Not 30 hours in the car with 20 of them waiting for your turn. Your time is valuable.
  • No embarrassment from making mistakes in front of your peers as you are trying to learn
  • Fewer distractions from others in the car thus fewer chances for a collision while learning

Courses

MTO approved beginners driving course

This defensive driving course is approved by the Ministry of Transport. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive the MTO Certificate recognized by the Insurance Industry and you will be able to try your G1 exit test to get your G2 after 8 months from the time you got your G1 license.

This course involves 25 hours in class and a minimum of 10 hours in the vehicle. Occasionally additional in-car lessons may be required at an additional charge.

In Class

Additional Lessons

Occasionally you may need or want additional lessons because of a lack of practice time available from a family vehicle. These lessons focus on the subjects you find challenging. The number of additional lessons necessary varies with your needs.

Refresher before a Ministry of Transport test

You may only want In-car lessons or a refresher before a Ministry of Transport road test. These lessons start with an evaluation of your skills and then proceed from there. Many students finish this training in 6 to 8 hours of In-car training. A few have needed as little as 2 hours and occasionally some students have needed more practice.

Use of an EXTRA MILE vehicle for Ministry of Transport testing

We offer the EXTRA MILE vehicle that you have used to learn in, for the Ministry of Transport road tests. The advantages are:

  • Pick up at a place of your convenience.
  • 1 hour of practice and familiarity with the vehicle before the test.
  • Use of the vehicle on the test.
  • Standing by as student gets his/her upgraded license. (If they pass)
  • Chauffeured back to the place of your convenience.

We've taken students to Walkley, Canotek Road, Winchester, Kemptville, Carleton Place, Smith Falls and Hawksbury test sites. Ideally, the point of pickup should be within a 30 minute drive to the test site to get the best benefit of this service.

Road Test Examiners like using Driving School cars as Driving School cars have a second brake available.

Extra Mile Express

You may have a need or wish to book all 10 hours of your In-car lessons with one request.

  • Allows you to finish the In-car portion in a predetermined time.
  • Allows you to schedule yourself and control the pace that you want to learn.
