Dr. Covington has been a regular participant at the Broadcast Education Association Convention, held annually in
Las Vegas, Nevada for a number of years. His research has won an award at the BEA convention

Dr. Covington was the commencement speaker for West Monroe High School in 1997. There was approximately 8,000 people in attendance at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
