Aprils flower is the Sweet Pea-
Diamond is your birthstone:
Meanings=SYMBOLIC MEANING=DEPARTURE, BLISSFUL,PLEASURE.
THANKS FOR THE LOVELY TIME, OR THINKING OF YOU)
Now just a bit of diamond history: Native carbon. The same element
also occurs naturally in the form of graphite, another mineral with
completely different characteristics and appearance, its name comes
from the Greek adamas meaning"invincibe", in recognition of its
exceptional hardness, which makes it resist any form of abrasion by
other minerals.
CRYSTAL SYSTEM: Cubic= Ancient civilizions were fascinated by the
exceptional hardness of diamond. Although colored gems were regarded
as more aesthetically pleasing. Diamond was extremely rare up to the
18th century and was only fully apperciated after the modern type of
brillant cut, which shows it in all its glory, was developed at the
beginning of the twentieth century. It is the most important gemstone
today.

MAY
The Emerald is the stone for May,
SYMBOLIC MEANING: Sweetness,Purity, Return of Happiness or Humility.
The Flower is The Lilly Of The Valley.
The Emerald; The name is of ancient origin. The Latin smaragdus
appears. in fact, to have referred to the stone w call emerald, which
is now consideered as distinct species. It is basically the green
variety of beryl, although not all gem- quality green beryls are
called emeralds: yellow-green stones are called heliodors; soft
blue-green or even pale green specimens
(their color due to iron, not chromium, as in emerald) are called
aquamarines.
APPEARANCE;The typical color is a beautiful, distinctive hue known,
in fact, as emerald green and is due to traces of chromium in the
crystal structure. But emeralds can be light or dark green, bright
green or leaf green. The vitreous luster is not outstanding, and
is strongest in medium-light stones with few inclusions. All emerald
contains inclusions, although in the best quality stones, these are
very faint and not visible to the naked eye. They show up under a
10x, 20x, 40x lens. The most common shape for gems in the step or
trap cut, which is also known as te emerald cut. They are occasionally
given a mixed, oval cut, while antique stones are found with
hexagonal, step cuts, cabochon cuts. or pear shapes with a hole in
them, ofen used as pendants.

JUNE

The flower for June is a rose:
Meaning: Love(Red), Purity, White), Happiness(Pink), Infidelity
(Yellow), I am Worthy of You:

Birthstone- Alexanderite,Pearl,or Ruby The Alexanderite is the
traditional stone but because of it's rarity and cost, Pearls and
Rubys have been used as a replacement.

ALEXANDERITE==This extremely rare gemstone of fairly recent history
owes its name to the fact that it was first discovered in the Urals
in 1830, on the day of Prince Alexander of Russia's coming of age.

APPEARANCE: Green: it can be almost emerald, but is more often yellowish
or brownish green. Its main characteristic is the ability to change
color if exposed to a light source rich in red rays; by candlelight or
tungsten light, it turns red or reddish. This unusual phenomenon is
what distinguishes it from other green chrysoberyl. This pronounced
color change from green to red is highly prized and, as always, the
exact tone of the color, or coors, is important, the ideal being
brilliant green turning to fiery red. Alexaderite is so rare that
few people have ever seen one; and perhaps for this reason, the name
is applied to other, mainly synthetic stones, not remotely like it
(usually violet-colored synthetic corundums).

PEARLS:== Pearls are the only gems produced by a living creature:
Pearls come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, colors vary from very
white to black. The larger the more exspensive, black South Sea pearls
are the most exspensive of the larger ones.

JULY

The flower for July is Larkspur,Delphinuim = Lightness.Levity.or
Ardent Attachment==Birthstone is Ruby===The most valuable varity of
corundum is a ruby. Yhe name comes from the Latin rubrum"red".
LikeLike the other red stones,it has also been called carbunculus, or
carbuncle, meaning a small coal or ember. The carols varies from
fiery vermillon to violet red, but because rubies are pleochroic,
different colors are also found in the same stone, bright or
sometimes brick red in one direction, tending to carmine in the
other. Certain lighting , causes a contrast of color. Thus rubies
turn brighter red under such light and the purplish ones look
redder. But it is hard to establish precise limitss, as all the
intermediate shades are possible. The brightest red are thus the most
valable rubies(usually from Burma) Thailand, however, is today the
main source of rubies. Value ; The highest quality, best colored and
most transpaarent stones(usually from Burma) weighing, for example, 3
to 5 carats, can be as valuable as diamonds, or even more so.
