The Night I Met The Savior
It was near Christmas in 1973 when I walked that aisle in a small church in Moody, Al. I had no hope, nothing to believe in except the words from Christians in the church. I wanted to be a wonderful mother for my 3 little boys, to give them all the love, encouragement and self worth that I had not received in life. That night when all the world saw no hope for me, the testimonies of the people in the church, came true. They had lovingly told me that a Savior had shed His Blood for me and would change my life....And that He did! All I had to do was ask Him to come into my heart, forgive me of my sins and be my Lord.
Since that first night of His Amazing Grace in my life, many years ago, I have found that His Amazing REST has carried me when I thought all was lost. Through all the years as a pastors' wife, losing my husband in 1995 and other circumstances life brings sometimes. There were times when I left Him standing at the crossroads with tears in His eyes as He watched me go my own way out into the darkness. I was still chasing the winds for something when all the time I had everything I needed in the Great Someone. He was always there to forgive and provide that much needed rest to see me through.
In Psalms, David pleads with God to use him even when he is old and grey to carry the message to all who will listen. As I am nearing the end of the journey of life on this earth, I find this is my prayer also. Lord help me to share the Love, Grace, Forgiviness and Rest that only Jesus can provide to us all.
