September 11, 2001 There are no words to describe how I,
and millions of others felt
as we sat
watching television in horror.
Americans were used
as weapons of destruction
to kill
other fellow Americans.
Thousands are gone forever due to this horrible
terrorists act against the United States.
God be with and comfort the loved ones and friends
who are left behind to try and cope
with the grief
and sadness of having lost someone
in this horrible manner.
A resurgence in patriotism has come out of this horrible tragedy.
There are flags everywhere! Red, white and blue are now everyone's
favorite colors! We are united in this cause to see the people pay for the thousands of lives stolen from our land.
The song you are hearing is "God Bless America".

All through the years as my sons were growing up, my secret desire was for them to be in the Armed Forces. I never expressed this feeling in my heart because I wanted them to find their own way in life and fulfill what THEY felt was the calling in their life.
In 2000, both my youngest sons decided they wanted to serve their country in the Army.
When I told them I had always wanted them to be in service of our counrty, neither knew of it. I reminded them of when they were little boys and about the time I had bought a flag to display outside. When I went to get the flag to hang outside, it was nowhere to be found. I finally found it.... taped on the ceiling of their bedroom, so they could be ever reminded of Old Glory. I was so proud I couldn't fuss!!!!!!!
Following are the pictures of my 2 sons in the Army. William just made Sgt!!! Congrats son!!
UPDATE!!!!!
William is now at Ft. Bragg, NC. He has earned the right to be a Medic in the Green Berets!!!!!!!! I am so happy for him as his dream is coming true, and for his beautiful family.
UPDATE....William has completed his studies at Ft. Bragg and has graduated to a much higher calling!

My son Eddie was in the Army Reserves and unit was unit was activated twice.
He is also a Fireman for the city of Auburn, Al.
Eddie considers it a calling to be a fireman and continues to strive to be the very best fire fighter he can be. He was recently among the fire fighters who guarded the Vice President when he visited Auburn University for their graduation speech. Eddie was allowed on Air Force 2 and was in awe of the technology on the plane.
UPDATE: Eddie has been promoted to Lt. of the Auburn Fire Department

Below is a picture of Eddie's Fire Hat. He has the cutest picture of his son in full fire fighting regalia at 2 years old, and it is soooo cute.

I am very proud of Eddie and here is a couple pics of him in his Firefighting outfit and Fire Engine!
