I got the idea for watching 'Touched by an Angel' which I also don't own. Rating: PG or PG-13 nothing graphic or anything

Prologue

Angel stood between to women, both with the face of his Buffy. One evil. One good. But which was which, he couldn't tell them apart. One was surrounded in a white light one in a dark light. Knowing his soul was in the balance his first instinct was to chose the one in the white light but he wasn't sure. But the one in dark light looked like Buffy as well, however she looked scarier somehow. Her eyes were blood red and she wore a black dress, were the other had Buffy's blue eyes and wore a white dress. The rest of the guys didn't seem to know one from the other either. Angel looked from one to the other and back again. "I don't know, I just don't know," Angel replied at a loss. "Who do I chose?" "Neither," one replied "Just listen!"

***** Part 1

Year 1752

Angel walked from a local tavern in Galway, Ireland. It was almost dawn as he headed to his home. Unknown to him two kind Angels are watching over him. "Janna there he is." "Yeah baby that's him." "So what are we doing here?" Janna looked at Buffy strangely. It was the fourth night in a row they had watched him enter the tavern before sunset and leave just before dawn. "Besides the inability to stay sober," Buffy replied smiling at the way Janna was looking at her. "That's not the problem. You have to look at the reason he keeps getting drunk. If it was his drinking that was the problem it would be as simple getting him to stop." Said Andrew (the angel of death), who had just appeared behind them. "Hello Andrew, I wish I could say I was happy to see you," Janna said solemnly knowing all to well why he was here. "Andrew are we supposed to help him put is life together before you take him?" Buffy questioned trying to figure out why they were here. "The Powers That Be were very vague as to our mission, they simply said to watch and be ready." "That's funny, that's what they told me to do," Andrew said. "And that's why," said Janna pointing to a dark figure in the shadows. Janna alone knew why they were there. "You see Angel is to become a great fighter for the good side, so great in fact that the dark side is throwing every thing they got at him. That is a Vampire named Darla, their hope is to have her make him a Vampire as well. We are here to stop that from happening, because not only would we have lost a valuable fighter we would have gained a very dangerous enemy." "OK I guess that makes sense but why us, we are Guardian Angels why not send Ark Angels?" Buffy asked "That Miss Wings, I don't know!" *****

Part 2

While the Angels were watching Angel they too were being watched as well by an ex-Angel who was a stunning resembling to Buffy. She kept her distance so not to alert them to her presence. "All will be revealed in time, and tomorrow night Angel will be ours forever!" snickered Cassy as her eyes glowed blood red before they returned their usual color of blue. She turned and walked away so she could get home before Angel. She laugh at the thought of what Buffy's face would look like when she discovered that Angel was in love with a fallen Angel, her no less. "Yes, this is going to be fun." ******

Part 3

noon the next day

Janna, Andrew, and Buffy had all arranged for 'Jobs' at the dock houses that were owned by Angels family Janna worked at the front desk. Andrew at the dock itself and Buffy as an assistant to Angel which was an unusual job for a women but she of course knew how to read and write. "So far so good. All we have to do is to get through the next couple of days and we lead him to his destiny," said a happy Buffy. However Janna was more sensible. "Not so fast Miss Wings you know as well as I do Evil isn't done yet." "I wonder where he is, he was supposed to be here at 7 a.m." Andrew came running in looking very disturbed. "Andrew what's wrong?" Buffy asked visibly concerned. "I saw something you two are not going to like," Andrew said in a voice that was as disturbing as his appearance. Janna and Buffy followed his gaze out the door and saw Angel coming in, with the worst of all fallen Angels - Demon to walk the earth, Cassy, Buffy's sister. Janna and Buffy just stood there with their mouths hanging open in shock. Janna was the first to get her speaking abilities back "All the Demons in the world and they send her!" The second in charge Kyle had overheard what they said about Cassy and smiled, "I see you have met Angel's bride to be." Kyle's comment waking Buffy up she asked, "What do mean?" "There is something Evil about that woman that I can't put my finger on but I don't know what it is, plus since Angel's sister died he has been so unhappy, she comes around and it's smile city. He seems happy so I have been biting my tong." Kyle said before returning to work. "Why hello Angels, having a nice day?" Cassy said coldly "Hello Cassy, why are you here," Janna said in an equal tone not in the mood to play some traitor's game. "That should be simple for you to figure out, to get married of course." At that moment a rafter from one of the ships fell knocking Angel into the water. Cassy playing the part of a concerned wife to be ran over and hugged him tightly as if she was worried, as soon as they pulled him out. "Come dear you're soaked, lets get you inside," Cassy replied a little to sweetly. With that Cassy helped Angel inside and up to their room. On the way in they were stopped by Kyle, "Before you go I want you to meet someone," he said leading them to where Janna, Andrew, and Buffy were gathered. "This is Janna your new desk clerk, Andrew the dock operator, and Buffy your new personal assistant." "Hello, nice to meet you all of you. Personal assistant huh, I was expecting a guy," Angel said looking at Buffy. "No offense intended of course," he said quickly. "None taken and it is nice to meet you too," Buffy answered smiling. "Shouldn't we be headed upstairs honey?" Cassy almost wined not wanting to let Angel be with the Angels for more then necessary. "Ah yes I do need to change, if you'll please excuse me," Angel said "Good bye." With that he turned and followed Cassy upstairs. "Not at all, nice to meet you sir," Andrew answered. Buffy made a move to follow them but Janna stopped her by slightly tugging at her arm then grabbed it to keep her in place. "And where do you think you are going?" "Janna we can't leave Cassy alone with him, who knows what she might do." "Oh no you don't. You leave that Evil thing alone, the battle just took a turn for the worse. And besides we don't know how long Cassy has been around, you saw the rafter, killing him isn't her style anyway she wants his mind and soul. Which she can't get till tonight." "However she can and will break you in half, sister or not." "I hate to say this but Buffy is right. She may not kill him, but she can make our job a lot harder!" Andrew replied timidly trying to avoid looking directly at Janna. Knowing he would probably die where he stood from the look he was sure Janna was giving him. "You're joking right," Janna replied glaring at Andrew in disbelief. "Well, no, not really," he said in the same tone as before. "Come on Janna they won't even know I'm there, one of the many of advantages of being an Angel you can only be seen when you want too." "I know that," Janna said annoyed then thought for a moment and said "Fine, but be VERY careful." *****

Part 4

Outside of Angel's apartment he bent down and picked up his mail before unlocking the door and opening it to let Cassy and himself in. Angel set down the mail on the table. "You know I think that Buffy is smitten with you." Angel looked up at Cassy and laughed. "A little paranoid are we?" "I'm serious. I'm a women and we can sense these things. I've seen it before, first she will follow you around then she will start to do little things for you." "Whatever you say. I'm going to change clothes, OK?" With that Angel left the room. As soon as he was gone Cassy picked up the mail and started to look through it. She came across a letter addressed to the owner on the dock houses from the home inspector. An Evil smile crossed Cassy's face as her eyes started to glow red and the letter burst in to flames and then vanished. Satisfied with herself she went back to making a snack. Not seeing Buffy appear and vanish again. There was a knock on the door and Angel returned with new clothes on to answer it. He opened it to see Buffy smiling back at him. "Hello, can I help you?" He said only a little surprised to see her after all she was his new assistant. "Andrew needs the key to room 3 and Kyle said you had it. Oh and I found this in front of your door it's from the home inspector." Buffy said handing him the letter Cassy had just burned. "Oh thank you very much I don't want to think what would have happened if I had lost this!" "Oh it was nothing." "I'll go get the key," Angel said as he turned around not seeing the dirty look Cassy gave Buffy. Buffy however only smiled pleasantly in response. "Here you go," Angel said as he returned handing Buffy the key and Cassy quickly changed her composure. "Thank you sir." "Your welcome and it's Angel, sir is so formal." "Angel it is then, I have to go ya know work and all." "All right I'll let you go bye." "Bye," Buffy said closing the door behind her. "Well, that was fast, I thought she would at least wait a day." "Cassy." "I'm telling you, don't blame me when you have to brake her heart." "I don't even know her, lets get off this subject what's for dinner to night." "It's a surprise. You will like it though" "Fine well I'm going out I'll be back before dinner all right?" "That's fine." "You are to good to be true. Bye honey," Angel said as he walked out the door Cassy then turned to the kitchen and sighed happily to herself and started preparing Angel's dinner knowing it would be his last. ******

Part 5

in the lobby 2 PM

"She is trying to do whatever she can to hurt him, lord knows what she's already done." Buffy sat beside Janna and Andrew telling them what Cassy did. "I know what she does but for the life of me I can't figure out why?" "Baby trying to figure out Evil will only give you a headache. It's soul purpose is to create destruction and chaos that is why Angel is so important to the cause, he will play in setting all that is Evil right for sure. In fact he all ready has done a lot but something happened and he stopped, lost is confidence I guess," Janna said sadly "Was it his sister?" inquired Buffy "Maybe, but I can't tell you how many times I was standing by ready to take someone and he showed up in the nick of time and saved them," slightly amazed at how much this human had all ready done. "I can't figure out how he does it, he's a miracle worker I swear." "You do to know how he does it," Janna said giving an upward glance. "The real miracle is that there is not more Evil on this earth then there all ready is." "Well, what happened to his sister?" "I don't know Buffy but I would lay wages that Cassy had something to do with it," answered Andrew. *****

Part 6

Cassy kneeled before The First Evil and The Court of Demons. "What is your report Cassy?" "Buffy, Janna, and Andrew have arrived ahead of schedule, I recommend we act quickly or we might end up losing our window of opportunity." Cassy then relayed the days events. "Very well Cassy, continue with your plan and make haste he is to important to lose," said The First. "Cassy, we are impressed with your service to this court here is the emblem you requested," said the leader of the court as he handed her a necklace. "Cassy succeed and it is yours till the end of time fail and you will be punished severely." The First said in a harsh voice. "Thank you." seconds later Cassy vanished "Was it wise to give her such a powerful talisman, she can be very reckless and arrogant most of the time," asked The Court Leader. "True but she also has a thirst for power once she uses it she won't want to give it up, which will give her an incentive not to fail us, she will succeed." *****

Part 7

After sunset

The Angel's watched as Angel walked into the tavern, there were no windows but they knew there were other people in there and neither Cassy or Darla would try something in a public place. "So do we wait or approach him now," asked Buffy more than a little antsy about the on coming battle that was sure to happen between Cassy and them. "We'll wait till he leaves and then we will approach him," replied Janna. "Won't he be a little drunk, he might think he is hallucinating," inquired Andrew? "Maybe, but we're Angel's we'll manage," answered Janna "That was fast, there he is. Let's get this over with," said Buffy pointing to the tavern as he staggered out. "Well that's unusual he seems completely drunk and he's only been in there a minute," questioned Janna "It doesn't matter, Cassy is close by I can feel it we have to hurry we are running out of time," replied Andrew. They followed Angel to a park which was on the other side of town. Angel tripped on a rock and fell, he pushed himself up ageist a tree and looked up to see Andrew, Janna, and Buffy. "What are you doing here," he asked very confused. "We are here for you Angel," at that moment they were surrounded in a white light. "What in the world are you?!" Angel pushed himself up till he was standing in front of them extremely confused "We are Angels sent by The Powers That Be to guide you to your destiny," said Janna. "My what?!" Angel was getting more confused by the moment. "Angel you used to save people and then you stopped. You were meant to help people and we are here to help you back on the path you were chosen for." Buffy answered smiling "When I try to help people I always end up hurting the people around me, ask my sister." "Angel that wasn't your fault, I took your sister home and she never blamed you for what happened," Andrew paused a moment before saying, "and she more then anything want's you to help people again." "He's right Angel," Buffy said kindly. "Do you really believe that Buffy, I swear you won't ever learn you are so gullible." Angel said this with a cruel smile spread across his face. "WHAT?" Buffy was suddenly very confused! "Come on after hundreds of years you fall for the oldest trick in the book, I guess we know who got the brains in our family eh sister!" "What the heck," asked Janna and Andrew at the same time as shocked as Buffy. They watched as Angel pulled a necklace out from under his shirt. His eyes glowed red and to the angel's horror he burst into flames when the flames subsided they stood in front of Cassy who was surrounded by a dark glow, eyes blood red. She let out a cruel laugh that sent shivers down all their spins. "Did you really think you could out smart me? You should know by now even the good guys get burned." Buffy completely petrified stood there confused as to what had just occurred, while realization crossed Janna and Andrew's face. Andrew grabbed Buffy's hand and in a flash of light all three Angels were gone leaving Cassy in a fit of hysterics. *****

Part 8

In seconds the Angels appeared in front of the tavern, they turned in time to see Darla toss Angel's limp body on the ground and walk away. They ran over hoping it not to late but knowing it was. Janna and Andrew stopped a few feet in front of Angel while Buffy dropped to her knees beside him and started sobbing uncontrollably, she had never lost anyone she was sent to protect before. She was at a loss. When Cassy betrayed them at the beginning of time when the powers split she had told Buffy she was and always would be weaker then her, that statement seemed more true now than ever before. She was sent to Angel as his Guardian Angel. Janna was her sergeant mother so to speak and only came because of her, and Andrew always tried to help her whenever he could because he more than anyone knew what they were up against. This was her job and she had failed. As if sensing her thoughts Janna wrapped her arms around Buffy trying to comfort her and failing miserably. Janna in her long life had only lost one person but what Buffy was never to know was that person was her. Buffy was a slayer 600 years ago Janna thinking she couldn't be defeated had neglected to check on her one night and as a result though Buffy was not harmed her sister had been turned by The First. Cassy was the last in Buffy's family and her loss had crushed her, she committed suicide three day later. This action had risked Buffy's soul for eternity in h*** but Janna had managed to convince The Powers That Be that if they made her an Angel with no memory of her past life, she could be put to better use. The pain of that day was still fresh in her mind. Only her, Andrew and The Powers That Be alone knew Buffy's true origins. ! ;All took it upon themselves to protect her. At this moment the three heard The Powers calling them back saying there was nothing more to do, in a Brilliant flash of light the three were gone leaving Angel's dead body on the sidewalk of Galway, Ireland. Unfortunately not dead for good. *****

Part 9

Present, in the library

Angel listened to all that was said in silence, he had no memory of any of those events. Yet somehow it made sense, and deep down he knew it was true. However it brought him no closer to knowing who to chose. "Angel I love you, please listen to me." "No Angel don't please, ignore her." "Everything she said is true, but she was the one responsible for what Darla did." "She's right I was but that's why I'm here. Don't you see you are fighting for your soul, she can only take it if you are willing and chose her." "Angel listen to me, you said it yourself I'm to good t" She stopped realizing her mistake. "To be true." Angel turned to the one bathed in white light and simply said, "Get out Cassy." The white light surrounding Cassy faded to a dark light matching Buffy's and her eyes blood red. Now they really couldn't tell them apart but then Cassy spoke, "It doesn't matter if you know who I am," turning so she could look Angel in the eye and said, "you will always be a demon," turning to Buffy, "and you will always be a Fallen Angel." "And you will never hurt anyone again!" said Jenny and Andrew as they appeared out of thin air. Andrew and Jenny pointed their hands toward Cassy as a mysterious light bathed Cassy and she began to scream in pain before bursting into flames but this time the flames did not subside and in a matter of seconds she was gone. *****

Part 10

"I don't understand what just happened here. How on earth did you do that? Wait, Janna, Andrew what are you doing here The Powers said I would receive no assistants?" Buffy was more confused then she had ever been. "Whoa, you mean Janna is Jenny," said Xander from the background, "who knew?" "First yes I am Janna. Two it's one thing to impersonate a fighter, but once Cassy pretended to be an Angel we were able to bath her in REAL pure heaven light. And three we didn't help you, you saved Angel all by yourself we just destroyed Cassy." "Ha just destroyed Cassy my a**," replied Buffy surprised but happy nonetheless. "Buffy what are you?" Angel asked concerned *****

Part 11

2 weeks after Angel became a Vampire Buffy and Janna stood before The Powers That Be silently hoping their requests would be granted if not Angel was doomed. "DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ASK FOR." "Yes, we do," answered Janna. "YOU HAVE SAVED MANY WE WILL GRANT YOUR REQUEST JANNA, WE FORESEE TWO TIMES YOUR DEATH WILL BE NEEDED TO ENSURE THE SOUL OF ANGEL WILL BE RETURNED, DO YOU WISH THIS?" "I do." "VERY WELL IT IS DONE." Suddenly Janna was gone. "JANNA WILL BE RETURNED TO HER FORMER STATUS AS AN ANGEL AFTER HER SECOND DEATH." "And what of my request?" asked Buffy "YOUR REQUEST IS MORE DIFFICULT, BUT NOT OUT OF REACH OF OUR POWER." They paused for a moment before continuing, "YOU WILL BE BORN ONCE AS A FALLEN ANGEL IN A HUMAN BODY. STEP FORWARD WHISTLER." Whistler did as told and stood by Buffy. "WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT BUFFY WILL COME TO YOU WHISTLER, THEN YOU WILL TRAIN ANGEL AND TEACH HIM WHAT HE NEEDS TO KNOW. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS. "Yes, I do," slightly shaken by being called by The Powers themselves over a Vampire, but he was not about to disobey. All would revile itself in time. "BUFFY, IF YOUR PLAN WORKS CASSY WILL NO DOUBT TRY TO MAKE ANGEL EVIL ONCE MORE, HOW DO YOU INTEND TO STOP HER." "I don't know, but when the time come I will be ready." "VERY WELL, BUT KNOW THIS ONCE YOUR MEMORYS ARE RESTORED YOU ARE TO HAVE NO CONTACT WITH ANGEL OR ANYONE ELSE YOU MIGHT, UNDERSTOOD." "Yes." "FINE IT IS DONE." And Buffy to was gone. "Can she pull this off?" Whistler asked. "YES, WE FORESEE HER AND ANGEL ARE MENT FOR EACH OTHER. SHE WE SUCCSEED." "I hope you're right." *****

Part 12

"Wait one minute you and Jenny or Janna or whatever clipped your wings for Angel?" Xander questioned dumfounded "Yes, you see I was the original gypsy Angel killed. Then when Angel lost his soul again as a result of my life and death it was restored." Jenny replied kindly "I wanted to protect Buffy so when she decided to help Angel, we came up with this plan." Turning to Angel, "You did exactly what we wanted you to do Angel." "Janna I don't understand why you had to die twice?" Buffy asked wondering that since they first came up with this plan. "Simple, the first time she died was to provoked the gypsy's into returning Angel's soul the second was to find a way to make it permanent," answered Andrew. "And who exactly are you?" Giles asked still in shock from seeing Jenny and finding out she was an Angel. "I am Andrew." "As in the Angel of death, why are you here?" Angel asked suddenly very afraid. "Actually I'm not the Angel of death, you see human souls originally come from heaven, all are born of two sides good and evil its a matter of which side they nurture. When they one, finish the task they were put here for or two, die, physically I mean, I restore them." Andrew replied "Which is why I'm here, to restore Buffy." As he said this Buffy went from being surrounded in a dark light to a pure white light. As suddenly as it appeared it vanished and Buffy past out. Angel caught her be fore she hit the ground. "What did you do to her?!" Angel asked "Buffy would never be happy with us without you guys," Jenny said gesturing to everyone in the libray. "And since she would never dream of letting me restore her till after your soul was safe we waited till now," Andrew finished "She will wake with no memory of the event's of today, or of what happened to you Angel. I think you would agree with me that she doesn't need a guilty conscience." "But it wasn't her falt," Angel said. "You know that, I know that but she doesn't. Just like you feel guilty for what the demon inside you does." Jenny said this with a kind smile on her face. "That's different I killed you, and to be honest I don't know why you are doing this?" asked Angel "Two reasons, one because it wasn't fair what happened to you. Two because I owe Buffy this, she deserves a happy life. Cassy obviously was Buffy's sister. Well, anyway more then 850 years ago Buffy was a slayer like she is now, all in her family but Cassy were killed. I was sent to protect Buffy but I failed and as a result Cassy was turned into a demon. It crushed Buffy and she killed herself three days later. I convinced The Powers to let her be an Angel but I always wanted to give back what my had arrogance taken away. You all have made her life here a happy one, especially you Angel. So it's best that she stay here with you." Jenny said this sadly but with a trace of hope in her voice. "I was the one who brought Buffy home. She hated to idea of living forever even if it was in paradise I couldn't get her to stop crying. Janna walked up and put a necklace around Buffy's neck it glowed Janna took it off and smashed it. I watched her go from a broken spirit to a strong minded Angel and I promised to do whatever in my power to to keep her that way." said Andrew with a far off look in his eyes. "She also won't remember being an Angel. She still is an Angel though, as well as a Slayer, that hasn't changed, so please take good care of her," inplored Jenny "I promise and Thank you." said Angel smiling. "Good. Thank you," replied Jenny "Though Cassy is gone this whole thing came from The First Evil to begin with. More then likly she isn't done yet so be careful." Andrew warned. In a brilant flash of light Andrew and Jenny were gone. *****

Epilogue

"How Dare you interfere!" yelled The First absolutely fuming at The Powers That Be. "SHE INPERSONATED AN ANGEL." "She belonged to me and you killed her. Angel is no longer your concern he is a vampire, a demon and mine." "ANGEL IN NOT OUR CONCERN." "Then why did you send three Angels after him." "WE DIDN'T, A FALLEN ANGEL STOPPED CASSY, AFTER ANGEL CHOSE FOR HIMSELF WE SENT OUR PEOPLE IN TO TAKE CARE OF CASSY. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM." "Oh don't give me that. You just found a way to beat the system." "VERY WELL, ANYTHING ELSE." "No, for now my hands are tyed, but don't think this is over. Just keep in mind who Angel has taken upon himself to protect." "OUR FALLEN ANGEL HAS BEEN RESTORED, IF YOU HARM HER WE HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO REMOVE ONE FROM YOUR CAUSE." "Don't you lecture me on the rules of engagement in this war. I'm not stupid but you aren't the only one who can find a way to beat the system." With that statment The First vanished. Whistler steped out of the protective screen The Powers had put around him. "Well she seemed miffed." "THIS ISN'T OVER, WE FORSEE THAT SHE INTENDEDS TO MAKE GOOD ON HER PROMISE. BUFFY AND ANGEL WILL BE AT THE CENTER OF HER WRATH." "Fun. Can they handle that." "WE WILL SEE IN TIME."
