"Darn it!" She muttered under her breath

She searched some more and retrieved a cell phone from the bag. She opened it and pressed a button it beeped and the message Low Battery flashed onto the screen.

"God why does it have to do this when I lost my key and I'm locked out?" She looked at it. "You are so selfish! Now I have to go all the way back to the office and get the spare set I leave with Angel.

She turned and began to walk back the way she came.

"You know there is a side door," Said a voice.

She spun round to see a tall man with baby blue eyes and blonde hair.

"Uh hi" She said immediately smitten

"My names Jake, come on I'll show you where the door is."

"Uh…Ok" She said hesitantly

He led her round the side of the building into a dark deserted alleyway.

"This way." He said in an extremely warm voice.

Cordelia followed eagerly until she found herself standing beneath the fire escape, which led right up to her window.

"Oh very funny!" She said exasperatedly. "Now why don't you show me the real…."

A gloved hand went over her mouth before she could finish the sentence; a face came up next to hers no longer the face of a handsome young man but the face of a vampire!

"I've been watching you for a long time Cordelia" It growled

She struggled desperately before sinking her teeth hard into the gloved hand.

"AGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!" It screamed hopping about and holding its hand.

"You picked the wrong chick to eat this time buster!" She yelled. "And by the way, that suit is so 90s!"

She turned and made to run back up the alley but ran straight into the arms of two more vampires.

"You are perfect." The one holding her rasped.

"Tonight you will join the chosen ones, Jake has made an excellent choice in selecting you to be his bride"

Cordelia tried to scream but she was too late she felt teeth sinking into her neck and then everything went black.

Sunnydale 2000

Xander Harris was walking home from Jack's Place, the sleazy bar where he worked while his friends were in College studying for jobs which would soon earn them more in a week than he earned in a year. Just then a car pulled up beside him, the door opened and Cordelia stepped out dressed in a black leather cat suit.

"Gee Cordy!" He exclaimed, as he looked her up and down. "You really went to town on designing your own line of hooker wear"

"Nice to see you've changed," She said sarcastically. "So are you still being ignored by those loser friends of yours?"

"You know what Cordy?" He said in a sudden burst of assertiveness. "I am not going to listen to you any more I don't need you, you girl born of bankrupt parents."

"Born of bankrupt parents or not I'm still gonna make more money than you do this month".

He turned and began to walk away.

"Hey Xander I wanna sleep with you so much" She called after him.

He turned round just in time to see her change into a vampire before she grabbed him and sank her teeth into his neck.

Later that night Cordy and Jake were walking up a dark street followed by a large group of vampires, two of which were dragging Xander's corpse along the ground. Cordelia was dressed in a black wedding dress while Jake wore an oversized tuxedo. They kept walking until they came to a large set of gates with a sign across them saying in large black letters "FORCLOSURE"

Jake pointed at the door and two of his minions stepped up and ripped the sign off then proceeded to open the gates for the bride and groom the entire evil procession trooped inside. They kept on walking until they reached a huge ivy covered mansion.

"It brings back so many memories" Commented Cordelia before the door was burst open and they went inside.

In Giles' house the Scooby gang minus Xander were sitting around the living room.

"Gee where do you think Xander could have got to?" Asked Willow in a worried voice.

"Oh Will you should try to relax Xander probably hooked up with Anya at the bar and they're off making love in the bushes somewhere." Said Buffy a hint of exasperation in her voice.

"She's right you know" Said OZ putting his arm around her shoulders. "I mean it's hardly like Cordelia has come back from LA as a vampire and killed him is it?"

They all laughed at this and Willow's anxiety appeared to have been cured as she and OZ kissed lightly.

Back at the mansion Xander was lying on the couch while candles were being lit in preparation for a wedding. Suddenly a gong sounded and the vamps all got into position. From somewhere music began to play and Cordelia and Jake began a slow walk up the aisle. When they get to the black alter a vampire dressed as a priest comes out.

Back at Giles' house it was two hours since Willow voiced her concerns about Xander being AWOL and the entire gang were getting worried. The entrance of Anya 5 minutes before had not helped matters at all and a phone call to Xander's home had only succeeded in worrying his mother.

"Maybe we should send out a search party" Suggested Willow

"Good idea" said Buffy. "Willow you and OZ take campus and the bar while Riley and I check the Bronze. OK let's go"

They all got up and hurried out the door.

Back at the mansion the service is just ending.

"...I now pronounce you husband and wife," Said the vampire priest

Cordelia and Jake began to kiss passionately as Xander wakes up.

"Hey guys I feel great!" Exclaimed vampire Xander

He got up off the sofa and began walking towards Cordelia.

"Hey babe." He said in a slimy voice. "Now just before you bit me didn't I hear something about you wanting to sleep with me?"

"Uh yeah right!" She laughed "Sorry loser I'm a married woman now, I'm married to a hot sexy vampire and you are one of his servants."

Jake scoops her up in his arms.

"Don't wait up." He said smugly to Xander before blowing him a kiss and leaving the room.

At the bar Willow and OZ are making enquiries.

"So you're absolutely sure you haven't seen him since he left 5 hours ago?" Asked an agitated Willow.

"Yes." Replied the exasperated barman

"Is that your final answer?" She asked.

"Come on Will this isn't England and you aren't Chris Tarrant" Said OZ

"Ok let's go back to Giles" place and check in with Buffy and Riley.

They began walking to wards the tacky neon exit sign.

In the Bronze Buffy and Riley were having no luck. No one had seen Xander for days.

"Yeah he's normally in here every night hitting on anything he hasn't got a chance with which is everything including the men" Said a peroxide blonde barmaid.

"We thought he must have actually managed to get a real woman seeing as how he hasn't been in here for a while" Put in her friend.

Outside the Bronze Riley voices his thoughts.

"I doubt we're gonna find him Buffy he probably just got drunk and is away somewhere sleeping it off."

"And how can he even contemplate cheating on a girlfriend who is such a slut she gives it to him whenever he snaps his fingers, that should still be novelty to a guy like him. The lousy stinking cheating….Parker!"

"Hey Buffy easy on the insults" Said Riley putting up his hands to shield himself and backing away at the same time.

"Knock it off we have more important things to do" She said punching his shoulder.

They turned and began to head back to Giles' house when suddenly they heard footsteps behind them. They turned to see Xander standing in front of them looking mean.

"You all think I'm stupid" He spat. "Well not anymore because Xander Harris is the man and he is going to get his revenge"

With that he changed into a vampire and charged at the pair. Buffy calmly held out a stake and Xander ran straight into it. He turned to dust right before their eyes.

"Oh my God I can't believe I did that!" yelled Buffy.

She fell to her knees on the ground and began to cry.

"Oh Xander I'm so sorry."

Riley pulled her to her feet. He took her face in his hands and looked into her eyes.

"Buffy that was not your fault. That wasn't even Xander. The only person to blame for what just happened is the vermin that sired him." He said sternly

"Well we'd better get back and tell the others." She said

"Oh my God this isn't happening!" Screamed Willow after Buffy had told her story.

"I know you don't want to believe it willow but it's true" Buffy said gently

"And…and how could you let it happen?" went on Willow. "You never cared about him otherwise you never would have let this happen you…you...you…BIMBO!!

Buffy reeled back with shock and Riley broke in.

"Willow it was nobody's fault but whatever vamp killed him. What Buffy killed wasn't Xander, Xander was killed before Buffy and I met him."

"Oh that's right defend her" Willow's tirade continued. "Well I'm not sticking around here anymore I'm gonna get to the bottom of this myself. Come on OZ!"

With that she gets up and storms out Oz close behind her.

"Will wait we don't know what's going on out there!" Said Buffy getting up to go after her friend.

Riley grabbed Buffy and restrained her from going after Willow.

"Let her go she needs time to think this over" He said gently

At the Chase mansion Cordelia and Jake were in Cordelia's old bedroom. Jake was lying on the bed while Cordelia was sitting at the dressing table.

"Honey I'm gonna go for a walk for what's left of the night." Said Cordelia

"Don't eat too much you have to watch your figure." He replied.

She got up and walked out the door. Once outside she began to walk down the street away from the Mansion. As she is walking past the Bronze she sees Willow running past tears streaming down her face, the chance was too much for her to resist.

"Hey Willow it's me, Cordelia" She said running up alongside her. "I bet you didn't think you'd see me again for a while huh?

"Actually Cordelia I never think about you and I am busy right now" Said Willow in no mood to talk.

She made to push past Cordelia but Cordelia grabbed her and held her tight.

"Now look here little miss geeky loser" She spat. "I may have left here a daughter of a bankrupt, a nobody, but now I am back and I am a somebody again and you and all your loser friends are going to rue the day you ever met Cordelia Chase"

"Uh Cordelia don't you think we have been ruing the day we met you ever since the day we met you?" Replied Willow getting impatient.

"That does it!" Yelled Cordelia

With that she turned into a vampire and sunk her teeth into Willow's neck.

"HEY!" Yelled Oz as he ran across the street to where the two were.

He grabbed Cordelia and through her off of Willow and Willow promptly collapsed on the ground. Cordelia got up.

"You haven't heard the last of me my husband and I are going to make this town burn"

She turned and ran off down the street. OZ bent and picked up Willow's unconscious body and began to carry her back the way he had come.

The following afternoon the gang were gathered around Willow's hospital bed she had only recently come round and was telling her story.

"…And she just suddenly turned into a vampire and said something about having a husband and then she bit me" She finished.

"Really? How interesting" Said Giles

"I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and presume you meant frightening and terrible" Put in Buffy

"Whatever" He replied

"So Cordelia's back in town and she has a serious case of being a vampire?" Said OZ. "I guess we'd better watch the shoe stores"

Back at the old Chase mansion Jake was going mental.

"You stupid Bitch!" He screamed. "You may have ruined the entire plan just to go after some High school geek!"

"Don't you talk to me like that!" Cordelia yelled back

He swung his arm back and punched her sending her flying. He then climbed onto the bed and began to kiss her.

At the hospital the gang are making plans.

"Ok if this gangs being led by Cordy they shouldn't be too difficult to take down we'll just shout Versace are having a sale on leather shoes and they'll be off" Commented Buffy

"I've been doing some reading on this Jake fellow Cordelia appears to be married to and he is very powerful indeed you can kill all the members of his gang you want and he just builds a new gang and starts again" Said Giles

"Look at least I can avenge Xander's death by killing the gang and hopefully Cordelia" Said Buffy

"This is against my better judgement Buffy but Xander was my friend to so I will allow you to go on a random killing mission just this once" Said Giles in a tired but determined voice.

"Ok so my money is on that they're staying at the old Chase mansion" Said OZ

"Ok it's just dawning now so I'll swing by my house, pick up the essentials and be on my way. These bastards are going down!"

1 hour later she was pushing open the gates of the mansion. She jogged up the drive until she cam to the front door. She pushed it open and entered the darkened hallway. She ran across the hall to where a sweeping staircase stood. She climbed the stairs and walked along the landing. Just as she was passing the first door it was flung open and 3 vampires came charging out. She punched the first one sending him reeling backwards before quickly plunging the stake in and pulling it out again only to plunge it straight into the second. The third proved more difficult, he punched her hard in the face before kicking her so hard she almost fell back down the stairs. After taking a second to regain her senses she ran at him and plunged the stake straight in.

"3 down, God knows how many more to go!" She muttered

She continued running down the hallway until she came to a set of large double doors. She pushed them open and marched into the room.

Cordelia and Jake were standing in the middle of the room in a passionate embrace.

"Hey public display" Said Buffy mockingly

Jake turned and took a second to assess the situation before running at her. Buffy caught him with an uppercut, which sent him flying backwards. He got up and went over to the dresser. He unlocked a drawer and took out a sleek black Hand gun.

"We could do it the traditional way but I can't be bothered." He growled

He turned to Cordelia.

"Just one more minute baby and the slayer will be gone and we will be together for...."

The arrow from the crossbow Buffy had been concealing cut him off mid sentence, turning him to dust.

Buffy dropped the bow and took a stake from up her sleeve. Cordelia ran at her and Buffy dodged over towards the dresser.

"Hey Cordelia look at this" She said raising a mirror that was on top of the dresser. "You can't see your reflection so now you can never wear make up again!

Cordelia realising what Buffy had just said was true screamed and grabbed the stake form Buffy and plunged it into herself.

"Gee I'm all for helpful customers but this is a bit extreme"

With that she turned and left the room.

She walked out the front door and down the long drive to the gate. As she was leaving she made sure the gates were closed and then re-hung the foreclosure sign. The Chase family were gone for good.
