Hello, my name is Carolyn. I am 40 years old. I have a son of 21, called Andrew, and have maintained a very strong Mother, Daughter, Best friend relationship, with my ex step daughter, called Michelle who is also 21. Her father and I split up in 1989; it was very hard to leave her behind, as I had brought her up from the age of 1 years old. Lucky for me she came looking for me 6 years ago, and we talked for ages, many questions were asked, which I answered truthfully, and we went from there. She has a 3-year-old daughter, called Chloe of which I am known as Nanny, and there is another baby due in August. My son Andrew and Michelle are very close, and spent many an evening out together, and rebuilt their Brother/ Sister relationship back to what is was before. Andrew now lives with his girlfriend in Surrey, and is doing well for himself, and making me a very proud mum. I write poetry, many of which are very personal, but I also write poetry to order (see link Poetry in Motion). There is also another page, with some of my favourite poems.
I am married to a lovely man called Keith, who I have known since I was 16, but it was not our time then. We met many times over the years, (usually when I was just out of a relationship, or getting over one) looking back now; it was as if the Gods were saying, “This is who you should be with”. We finally got together in 1997, and married 1999. We have our own special family, which we class as our children, (because we are too old to have anymore, I don’t have the patience really, lol); they are, 2 dogs, 1 a boarder collie cross, called Isla, and a Yorkshire Terrier cross, called Lightening. I have 4 cats, Sheri, Spike, Twiglet and Storm, 2 Gerbils, called Giz and Mo, and some Tropical Fish. As you can see it is a mini Zoo, lol.
I come from a family of which I have a Brother and Sister both older than me. I grew up in Notting hill, London, I had a great childhood, even though we lived in London, my parents made sure we always went out to parks, zoo’s and had a family holiday to the beach every year. None of the rest of my family walks the path, but respects my beliefs and traditions, and are very supportive. I have however over the years talked to my Mum, and have found out, that I did have 3 Great Aunts, plus my Mum’s Mum, who were all Craft, they all came from Kent, and I believe this is where my Craft tradition has come from. I would never push my son to follow my path; he will make that decision on his own, if and when he is ready.
I have walked the Craft path for 13 years now. I am a Priestess, even though to me that is just a name, I believe no matter how long you have been in the Craft, you will always learn more, and we are all equal, and have much to learn from each other. I am now swaying towards the Egyptian Path, and I am a member of the Fellowship of Isis, (to find out more click on link). I am very down to earth, and will always be there for my Craft family, (of which Willowhawk is one).
