Apostrophes with plurals are not correct,

When they’re not plain “s”, it’s a major defect.

Unless you use “it”,

In which case it is switched,

Make sure plurals are plain, and no one will object.

 

(Plural is just plain “s” or “es”, depending on the word.  No apostrophes.  Apostrophes show ownership.  “Jan’s cat was captured by aliens,” for instance.  “It” is an entirely different matter—the whole rule is switched.  “It’s” is a contraction for “it is”, and “its” shows ownership.  “Its brains were dissected and…”  You get the point.)
