The
Obligatory Article
Otherwise
known as “Editor’s Note”
Or, “News
and Updates”
Two more times of this and we’ll
be into a new year—I’d say that’s pretty good.
Not, however, a new year of Yn Nor, though that
anniversary is only half a year away…
OK, so our record isn’t that impressive so far. But hey, we’re new, and growing, and… DEAL WITH IT!
Sorry, I’m a bit edgy right
now. NaNoWriMo—for which we have an
article this month—is going to make this month a long one. (Besides, my Sonics stink. But that’s beside the point, for you guys
anyway.) But it will also make November
a much more productive set of four weeks in which I shall (I think…) write
50,000 words. Read the article if you’d
like to know more.
It seems all of our writers
decided to go random this month—pretty literally, too—and so you may find
yourself with your side in pain after reading this issue. First off, our covers are quite funny—refresh
the page for a new one, and you’ll see what I mean. (Or you can just click those links up there…they
work, too.) Thanks to Ben Miff for the
brilliant little idea and the pictures for it.
Also, we’ve got an incredibly random article by Geo Holms (duuude, he
says random in it thirty-five times),
and another one from Spring Brookring on what we should all be thankful for
this month. Ben Miff’s “How to Survive”
is easily classified as random as well, so enjoy. Northwind begins the adventures of the Holy
Hole Puncher, and Spring’s What’s In a Name is as
random as the title would suggest.
Gracious, we are a strange crew.
Anyway, if you’re the type who
enjoys sanity rather than its counterpart, you can check out this month’s book
review, which looks at several books for writers and details their pros and
cons. We also have a wonderful SPAG poem
from Fidget, a beautiful poem about autumn from Northwind of Otters, and an
exciting first part to the story of Misha the ferret, written by Daquira. Series are continued in Geo Holms’ Writer’s
Block Cure, Ben Miff’s Character Design, and finally, in Vitora’s Yn Nor
Workshop.
Announcements? None for this month, I think.
