Cornish, NH
I Call this one, BUTZ!!
Cornish is located on the western side of New Hampshire on the banks of the Connecticut River in Sullivan County.  It was an original King's Grant town, which would have been originally six square miles--the borders having changed some since then......Population is around 1500, I believe.

The picture to the left is an image from our local fair, the annual Cornish Fair.  The Cornish Fair recently celebrated it's fiftieth birthday.  These are pulling ponies in the pulling ring.

Cornish was originally largely an agriculturally based township.  Once there were many sheep farms.  Once the bottom fell out of the wool market due to synthetics, farmers turned to dairy farming.  Recently many farms are going out of existance due to financial pressures.  Cornish is becoming considered a bedroom community for Dartmouth-Hanover-Lebanon area.

Cornish retains some of it's original farming roots by hosting the Cornish Fair every year.  It is a fun little fair geared towards families, fun, and 4-H.

Below is just an "artsy" photo that I wanted to share.  I think that this piece of driftwood looks like an alien face peering up through the mud?  If you look closely in the mud,you can see the tracks of deer, people, dogs and water rats.  This photo was taken at Post Pond in Lyme, NH.
