. . 2CV and Related Books.(Reviews and Bookstore) The reviews of the books given below are my personal opinions, although I hope you will find them valid. If you have any comments, on books listed here, or others which may be of interest, I'd love to hear from you. For further information about the book, or if you wish to purchase the book, follow the "more information" link below the title to one of the Amazon online bookshops. Wherever you live, you can purchase books from Amazon.com in the USA, and Amazon.co.uk in Europe, I have included links to both because it will be quickest to order from the location nearest to you if the book you want is available there. Prices given are intended as a rough guide (the recommended price, advertised price, or the price I paid for mine). Currencies vary, and different retailers may set different prices. I have also included some non - 2cv books, namely some on Microcars, which I find particularly interesting.
This book follows the restoration of a 1986 2CV6 Dolly, as "serialised" in Car Mechanics magazine over a number of months. Although the work carried out was specific to the needs of the car shown, it could be applied to any 2cv restoration or repair. Topics covered include fitting a new chassis, sheet metal repairs, interior renovation, engine servicing, and electronic ignition, all illustrated with full colour photographs. Despite a few technical inaccuracies, mainly throught the restoration team not being 2cv specialists, the book should povide a useful starting point for anyone considering such a restoration project.
A 170 page black and white
softback book containing a collection of facsimile
roadtests, reports from the motoring press and magazine
articles about the 2cv. The book contains articles from
the early years, including the car's debut in 1948 and roadtesting
the Slough 2CV, through to the car's re-introduction
to the UK in the early 1970s, and even a number of
articles written in the 1990s, following the end of
production. A useful source book packed with historical
information, and highly recommended
I have yet to read this book, but I believe it to be an updated version of the Gold Portfolio described above.
As the title suggests, this book is an "album", full of high quality colour pictures of the 2CV and derivatives. Although more artistic than technical, this is quite an informative book, and one worth browsing through. Quite expensive, but a useful part of my collection.
This book describes every aspect of the 2CV, illustrated in black and white, and some full colour photos, technical drawings, and plenty of archive material. This is a wealth of very well researched information. Useful references and appendices include an up to date list of specialists, tables detailing different production models and years, original publicity material, and even a chapter dedicated to memerobilia and models.

Information on the many derivatives (eg. dyane) is included. Although black and white throughout, the book is adequately illustrated with photographs to support historical and technical information. Quite expensive, but highly recommended.

Andre Citroen: The Man and the Motor Cars John Reynolds/ Hardcover 130 pages/Published 1997
Some interesting microcar books.
This book is written, I believe, by a distant relation. It is arranged by manufacturer and gives a brief history, as well as a model description of most of the main microcars produced this century. Full of original publicity material, black and white photographs and information about different manufacturers. Recommended.
