Above is a picture of the reactor in operation in my basement. Be careful where you put your CO2 tank as if it falls over and sheers off the valve it will be a fast moving missile! Mine has a little bit of coat hanger as a saftety rope to the ceiling. I know it looks messy with the wires and tubing but it is a corner of the basement that does not see much use. Above this to the right is where I mounted a surge protector to handle the electrical needs of this thing. Below is a picture of the bottom half showing the pump. Be careful handling this when the pump is attached. The plastic on the pump is fragile and could break easily when attached to the pipe because of the added leverage it gives it. |

This last picture is where the affluent enters the sump. I attached the affluent drip against the overflow lines using a little electrical tape and added a little extra tubing to keep the affluent from crystalizing in the needle valve and plugging it up. There is a lot of turbulance here in this part of the sump which helps it mix and might aid in a little more balance of the PH before it gets sent back up to the display tank. |
