J.T. Edson is a British author who pens American Westerns. That may sound odd but it's not as out-of-the ordinary as it seems. There's even a name for that style of Western, though it's not really something that would apply to Edson.

Because a misinformed Britisher once penned a Western which featured a flying coyote, British Westerns have been dubbed coyote-in-the-sky Westerns.

Edson's books appear free of such erroneous detail. He includes meticulously researched details in his novels which track the history of post-Civil War Texas and Arizona.
