Counterstrike maps are very similar to Team Fortress Classic maps, in the way that there is an objective, two teams, and a variety of weapons to defeat the enemy. These similarities are almost the same, except Counterstrike cuts them in half. Instead of both teams having a main objective, only one team does, the counter-terrorists. The counter-terrorists are meant to on offense, and their objective is to rescue the hostages, and/or kill all of the terrorists. Many players on the counter-terrorist’s just like to kill all the terrorists because it’s much easier, and trying to rescue all the hostages is sometimes impossible, unless you have someone who is new to the game and doesn’t try ending the round before you can rescue them.

It’s often misunderstood what the terrorists are meant to play. Some players that play as terrorists a lot like to leave the terrorist area and just go to the counter-terrorist spawn point and kill them real quick. That method of playing totally ruins the fun of the map, maps are meant to be played as in real-life. Terrorists in real life wouldn’t know where the counter-terrorists would be coming in at, so how would they know where exactly to go? Besides the fact that they wouldn’t know, how fun is it to just go kill the counter-terrorists while they setting up there plan? Not fun at all, except for the players who are doing it, and that is just because they are getting kills. Kills doesn’t matter when you are playing on team, yet some still don’t play on a team. Terrorists are meant to defend, and to keep the hostages from being rescued by the counter-terrorists. That is why you must stay in your base and defend, when you run out of your base just to go get kills, sometimes you will get surrounded by counter-terrorists and they will just gun you down and now your team is down one man to defend with. Think wisely.

The variety of weapons you can choose from make the mod very fun and interesting to play. The fact that you can choose from so many, makes the way people play differently. If you had a sniper rifle, you wouldn’t just charge in the base and try shooting the other team, mainly because you would get killed and lose your gun, you would stay back and try picking them off with a few shots from your sniper rifle. Now if you had the kevlar vest on, you might want to run into the other teams base, but not alone, because not all the shots they take will hit you in the chest and back area. You notice after a while that the vest isn’t always helpful, and quite a few people complain about it. The reason the vest isn’t always helpful is because like I stated earlier, not all the bullets hit you in the chest and back area. Most hit you in the legs, and some hit you in the head, which will kill you very fast, vest or no vest.
