| Anita
Johnson grew up in Bucks
County PA. At an early age she was influenced by the
regional painters of the NEw Hope School and attended the
Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She spent three years in
Florence, Italy, focusing on landscapes. Anita is a member of the board of the guild of Boston Artists, Vice President of the North Shore Arts Association and member of the Rockport Art Association. She has shown her work in many national shows. |
Ron
Straka Artist and retired
US Govt. research physicist, graduated from the Johns Hopkins
University. Painting since his early teens, he continued to
paint in parallel with his science career. Drawn to the
challenge of en plein air painting, Ron travels extensively to
interpret the beauty of nature. His paintings have been in
numerous shows and galleries throughout the country and abroad. Ron is also an accomplished photographer, having studied with Ansel Adams. Ron's photography shows included the MFA of Boston and the DeCordova Museum of Lincoln. He also teaches and is president of the Rockport Art Association |
Pat
Wymore Not originally from
this area, Pat Wymore, born in Corpus Christi, Texas, moved here
to Lowell from Austin, and revels in the local art scene. A
member of the Waterloo Watercolor Society and the American Collage
Society, Pat has been a professional artist for over ten years. The bulk of Pat's work is watercolor, her "true love". But to stimulate her creativity, she often turns to other mediums including acrylic, collage, oil paint and using her own hand-made paper. This gives her a wide range of styles and options. Pat has also agreed to teach an eight week course at the Wilmington Arts Center in the Fall. She gave us a "teaser" this Spring - a one day workshop on collage. Pat's mission is to convey the serenity she finds in the creative process |
