The
Patristic Period is the period
of the early
“Church Fathers.”
These “Church Fathers”
were the
disciples of the original Twelve, and
their successors
during the developmental
period of the church. This
period of the
church can be
viewed as ending with the
legalization of
the Christian religion under
Constantine in
the 313 Edict of Milan which
demanded
religious toleration for Christians.
