lThe “Alexandrian
Canon” dates from the translation
of the Old Testament into Greek (the
Septuagint) in 250 B.C. It included approximately
15 “Apocryphal” books that were later rejected by Palestinian Jews. It has been
suggested from the wording of some
of the quotes in the New Testament that
this may have been the version used by Jesus and his disciples.
