When You Arrive

You need a passport to enter the country.  Bring proof of legal name change if you recently changed your name.

Children under 18 years of age who are not traveling with both parents no longer need a notorized affidavit from each parent not traveling with the child, but check with your airline

At the airport you will be given a tourist Visa in the Immigation Deaprtment. Make sure you keep this; it has to be turned back in when you leave the country. .

As of January 2006 the fare by taxi from the airport to Mismaloya is the same for the white and yellow taxis, approx $25. Buy your ticket at the booth inside the airport. Make sure you tell them Mismaloya Condominiums, not to be confused with Mismaloya hotel. The fare from the condo back to the airport is 190 pesos. It cost 100 pesos to take a taxi from down-town Puerto Vallarta to Mismaloya, but always agree on the fare before you get in. You may also catch a bus into town and change to the Mismaloya bus. There is a bus stop on the highway next to the airport.(by the footbridge) Look for a bus that says "Centro Puerto Vallarta". The bus to Mismaloya departs from Calle Constitucion and Basilio Badillo. Bus fare is 5.5 pesos. The bus stops outside Mismaloya Condominiums every 15 min.

When you arrive at the condominiums you will find a nice lobby with a front desk. Make sure you go out on the balcony and check out the great view! Tell them your name, you will be expected. You will be given 2 sets of keys, both of which will have a key to the condo and a key to the gate for the stairs down to the beach. Also on both sets there is a key to the safe that is in the condo, look under the CD player.

Most major Rental Car Companies are available at the airport and in many locations in town. The people working the front desk will help you arrange for car rental, the car can be brought to, and picked up from the condominiums. You must be 25 to rent or drive a car, 18 to drive a scooter.

There are several good places to eat in Mismaloya, (see the resturant page) but our condo has a well equipped kitchen in case you want to do some cooking during your stay. There are two small grocery stores in Mismaloya; walk down the road, cross the road before you get to the bridge and go down the little hill to your right. The first store is in the Casa Iguana Hotel and is the biggest and most expensive, the other store is further up the road. None of them have a great selection, you will want to do most of your grocery shopping while in Puerto Vallarta, Supermercado Guiterrez Rizo is located on Calle Constitucion; it is open until 11 pm and is on the same street as the bus depot for Mismaloya, 4 blocks towards town.
