Multiplayer Utilities

CFO Weather (v6.5.8)

CFO Weather is an add-on DLL for CFS1 & CFS2 by Bill Potvin that allows you to 'warp' to different locations within multiplayer games. It also allows the setting of a range of advanced weather conditions and accurate times of day.

This utility is essential for online bomb runs and other team-oriented mission games and is, as far as I am able to determine, compatible with both Windows 98 and XP.

CFO is tricky to install by hand, so you may wish to make use of the self-installer by CSS_JungleBudz provided at www.multicfs.com under CFS Utilities.

CFS2 players may also take advantage of the excellent ZoneAid utility, available at the Hell's Angels' web site. This program will install CFO and offers a range of other features, such as making AI aircraft flyable, adding GPS and fuel dump gauges, etc.

CFO for CFS1 & 2 is available at: http://www.cfsops.com

TG2 (v.2.1.0d)

TailGunner 2 (TG2) allows you to drop bombs and aim appropriately configured guns (tail, waist, side, etc.) with your mouse and also to see the bombs dropped by other players during multiplayer sessions. It also protects from some collisions - a 'death' will still be registered against you in the game score, but you will be able to keep flying.

TG2 is NOT compatible with Windows 2000, Windows NT and Windows XP - It was developed for use with Windows 98 only. There is talk of an XP-enabled version of the program, though I have yet to see it...

It is strongly advised that you also install the Tailgunner Switcher by RCAF_Maddog, which will allow you to turn this facility on and off.

Tailgunner 2 is available at: http://www.multicfs.com

The Tailgunner Switcher is available at: Com-Central.net

Brunhost (v1.41b)

BrunHost acts as the host of CFS multiplayer sessions, allowing for the special management of online team games, bomb runs, etc. Only the 'hosting' player needs to have BrunHost installed, other players join the session in the normal way.

Brunhost allows movable, destroyable objects that all can see, allows different starting locations for each team (both on-ground and in-the-air), allows time of day to be set, can enforce 'no fun' settings in combination with TG2, and can restrict aircraft for individual teams.

BrunHost was designed for use with Windows 98. There are compatibility issues with other operating systems. For advice on running it on XP machines and other technical issues, please see the Site Forum at Multicfs.com.
