Guide To Convert 2k3 to MCE

Note: CONVERTING ANY SERVER INSTALLATION TO MCE OR XP WILL MAKE IT LOSE ITS SERVER FUNCTIONS!!! IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR OS, IT IS YOUR FAULT. FOLLOW THE GUIDE EXACTLY, AND NOTHING SHOULD HAPPEN.

YOU WILL NEED:

THE FILES PROVIDED IN THIS RAR

XP PROFESSIONAL CD2 OR A N-IN-1 CONTAINING MEDIACTR.CAB OR A WiNBETA TRANSFORMED XP MCE CD


1. Convert Your 2k3 to Professional using the TweakNT provided

2. Copy the following files to the following directories and replace any existing files:

medctroc.dll

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Setup
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\



medctroc.inf
medctroc.PNF
sysoc.inf

C:\WINDOWS\inf



mediactr.cat

C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
C:\windows\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}


medctrro.exe

C:\WINDOWS\eHome


3. Go to add/remove programs, and check Freestyle

4. Use your XP CD2 to install. Reboot immediately. If you get a product license tampering
violation, click OK

5. If, after you reboot, MediaCenter Does NOT work (ONLY IF IT DOES NOT WORK) run the bat,
then the reg, then ehshell.exe
