Chapter Eleven
“What’s this?” She asked in confusion.

“You aren’t coming.”

“Like hell I’m not.” She laughed bitterly, “We both got found out genius.”

“Hey, I think I know my dad’s mind just a little better than you do. You found true love here Nikki. And you just admitted that to Ryan. You’re exempt. Because you lied earlier. Nothing is stronger than that.”

“But I love you! Doesn’t that mean you can stay too?”

“You aren’t a person from this time period, Nikki. Don’t make this harder on me than it already is. If it makes you feel better, even if I could stay, I wouldn’t. This isn’t my home. I don’t belong here.”

She shook her head, “You always were stubborn.” She gathered him in a hug. “Goodbye.”

He turned to walk away. “You know, Nik. You’ll really like what’s in that box. Bye sweetie.”

And he was gone.

Ryan walked up behind her, “You okay?”

“The only reason I’m here is you. How weird is that?” She smiled and turned to Lance, “I think its safe to say that we’re over.”

He laughed, “Agreed. But Nikki… what’s in the box?”

She quickly opened the box and laughed, “Its our senior yearbook.” She smiled, “We were going down to the celler, to find a pen so he could sign it for me. He must have been holding it when we got taken.”

Ryan held it in his hands, “Class of 1926? Wow.” He flipped to the back. “Check this out Nikki.”

She looked at the page, “He finally signed it. To my Elizabeth,”

“Elizabeth?” Ten people asked at the same time.

“Oh come on people. Did you actually think that we ended up with the same names? Both of us in Georgia was miracle enough.” She continued to read.

Ryan put an arm around her shoulders, “Well, even though you’re now 72 years older than me, instead of one, I think this’ll work out. Who’s up for a movie?”

Nikki nodded her head along with the rest of her friends. “I’m in. But one thing.”

“What’s that?”

“It better be in color.”
