Chapter Seven |
"Jenny? Are you here?" Lance stepped into Jenny and Nikki's apartment, looking around. "Yeah, I'm here." Jenny appeared in the hallway. "What's up?" She sat down on the couch, motioning for Lance to do the same. "Lance?" She asked as she noticed his outer-space expression, "Are you okay?" He shook his head, and sighed, "Jenny, are you and Ryan together?" She looked at him in shock, "No, why?" "Well, I told Nikki how I felt about her, and she said she felt the same way, but then again, she wants Ryan too, and-" "Whoa whoa whoa.... Lance, exactly HOW do you and Nikki feel about each other?" "Its more than friendship, Jen. Way more than friendship. We love each other.... She's just confused." Jenny's face fell. "Yeah, I contributed to that. I never should have gone out with Ryan last night." "You can't stop beating yourself up over that. I mean, obviously she felt that way before. I don't think you did much damage with your little fling." He pushed piece of hair out of her face. Jenny stared at him, in shock. "Lance... what about..." She was silenced as he quickly kissed her, then stood and ran out of the apartment, leaving her in total disbelief. "Nikki's gonna kill me." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I'm gonna kill her." "Who?" "Jenny! Would you BELIEVE-" "Whoa, Nik, slow down. What hap-" "She borrowed my FAVORITE SHIRT!!!" Nikki said in frustration. Lance breathed a sigh of relief, "Well, if you want my honest opinion... you look good right now. Why not wear this on your date?" "You're just saying that so Ryan will think I'm a slob and never talk to me again." "Lance nodded in approval as he sat on her bed, watching her get ready for her "deciding date" with Ryan. "Can you blame me?" "Not really." She laughed as he kissed her gently, "Hey now.... this is Ryan's night. Not yours. You can just wait until tomorrow mister." "Fine. By the way, what did Ryan say when you told him about all of this?" He watched as she dissapeared into her closet, emerging with an armload of shirts. Standing there in jeans and a bra, she looked at him. "He wasn't thrilled that I lied to him, but I think he understands why I did it." She threw on a silk blouse and shook her head. "You still understand, right?" "Yeah, but what I don't understand is why that shirt didn't work." "Nu-uh. there's no way I'm going to clash tonight buddy. You're just trying every trick in the book aren't you?" She giggled. "Once again... can you blame me?" She rolled her eyes and stepped back to look at herself in the mirror. "What do you think?" He gave her a thumbs up and gently hugged her, "I'm dying not being able to kiss you. He left a soft graze on her cheek." She wanted to melt into his arms, but knew she couldn't. "Lance, I've got to go. I'll see you tomorrow." She gave him one last sweet look, then was out the door. "She's gone?" "Yeah.... why do you care though?" Jenny grinned, "Because sweetie... that means we're here alone." She kissed him on the lips, letting her hands run through his hair. He pulled back in surprise, What's your problem Bass... she's out with another guy trying to decide who she likes more... might as well play the field a little bit. He leaned in and kissed Jenny again, putting more passion into is as the minutes ticked by. Moaning as they seperated, Lance led her towards the couch and glanced back into Nikki's room once more. I'm sorry Nikki. |
