Chapter Nine
“So Nikki. You’re seriously forgiving Lance and Jenny for what they did?” Ryan lounged back on the couch, putting his arm around Nikki.

“Ummm… not really. But listen, please don’t tell them I’m still mad. Please? The way I’m doing this, they should never get over all of this.”

He raised an eyebrow at her, “Will it do me any good to ask you what you’re going to do?”

She thought for a moment, “No.”

Ryan rolled his eyes, but kissed her on the forehead. “Alright. You staying here again tonight?”

She giggled, “Where else would I be?”

~

“Is it just me, or is Nikki really taking this well?”

Lance gave Jenny an odd look. “You mean she forgave you?”

“Me?!” Jenny cried, “What about you? I mean after what I told her-“

“Told her?” He closed his eyes, “Damn. We both blamed each other. She knows by now.”

Nikki grinned from the doorway, where she stood with Troy. “I stil got it don’t I?”

“Seventy something years later and you still got it.”

“Could you say that one a little louder? Its only a situation that nobody will ever understand.”

“What? The fact that we’re supposed to be ninety one years old? What’s so odd about that?”

“Shut up Troy.”

~

“Have you lost your mind? Lance, that is the most ridiculous thing that I’ve ever heard!”

“Don’t go there. I can think of a few things.” He rolled his eyes, “And I heard it with my own ears.”

“Ok, then answer me this; Why don’t they look ninety one years old?”

“I couldn’t tell you.”

~

“Troy they know.”

“How?”

“I have no idea. But we’ve got to get out of here.”

“Are we even going to say goodbye to anybody Nikki? What about Justin and Ryan?”

Her face fell. “I forgot about them.” She groaned, “Troy? Why did we ever come here?”

“Because we were stupid. And didn’t I tell you not to get close to any of these people? We belong in the 1920s Nikki. Not here.”

“I like it better here.”

“Well, so do I. But you knew we had to leave sometime.”

She hung her head, “That may be true, Troy. But I, for one, and not interested in leaving the twenty first century.”

“Well, now we have no choice. Because now they know.”

“Yeah we do. And I want an explanation.” Lance said entering the room.

Jenny smacked him. “Nikki, I’m confused. What’s going on?”
