So Together We Two
If parting is such sweet sorrow, then why was he so happy? The question shot through her mind as she stared out the window. It was a glorious summer day, but the sun had set in her heart. She felt no other emotion but sorrow. Anger came in intervals, but sorrow was her main attraction. The tears flowed effortlessly. er face could be used as a substitute for a mop, and she hated it.

Why was she so upset, so long after it had happened? She had hoped 2001 would be the year she would flourish, the whole world would know what she could do. But he retained her attention, clouded her mind, and occupied her thoughts. She missed him. The sheer thought of that made her wince. She didn't
want to feel this way, but she did. There was no denying that.

She heard him enter the room. He had a presence, a persona that made her yearn. They were friends, after all. They had every right to interact. Still, they were different. They always had been. She turned and smiled as he came to her and gathered her in a tender hug. She ran her fingers through his hair and laughed. She was at peace. But she was still sad, angry at him for what he had done. But not for long; she could never be mad at him for long. No matter how much she wanted to; she couldn't hate him.

He leaned closer and placed a gentle kiss on her cheek. She leaned into it, savoring the feel of his lips on her skin. It sent chills through her body, setting off every alarm she contained. A tear fell down her cheek. He noticed and wiped it away, concerned for her. When he asked what was wrong, she could only shake her head, then walk back to the window.

He followed her and they stood there. Together. She leaned into the old comfort he had always provided. The comfort that she craved from him once more. He smiled and put an arm around her shoulders, drawing her closer. She was gone, her mind was blank. But her heart was full, her senses overwhelmed. And the passion was intense. Her body longed to feel his. Taking a deep breath, Nikki pulled JC's face down to meet hers and they connected. They were back. The two of them; they were so together once more.
