| (February 1998) "Nikki! Hey Nik, hold up!"Mandy yelled at her best friend, trying to catch up in the hot Florida sun. Nikki stopped and turned around, her brown hair hurling through the air. "Yeah Manny?" Mandy ran up to her with a huge smile on her tanned face. "Guess who wants us to open up a show for them?" "I can't. Who?" "Oh, nobody really." Mandy paused, trying to build up effect, "Well, except for maybe NSYNC." Nikki screamed and hugged Mandy. "Oh nuh-uh!! Oh my God!! Wait a second, why didn't JC tell me this?" "He doesn't know either! I thought, well we all did, that you could tell him. I'm sure you two will want to celebrate." Mandy nudged Nikki with her elbow and stifled a giggle. "Hush!" Nikki blushed, "I'll talk to you later, Manny!" She took off running, then turned when she heard a shout. She looked back and saw Mandy, Veronica, Amanda, and Danayin yet another argument. She shook her head.She knew Amanda was about the only one who ever had major disagreements with anything the group did, but she never really thought much about it. Yet to her, it looked like Innosense was falling apart. "Peaches? You look upset." JC said as he grabbed her around the waist. He followed her gaze to the arguing group, "Oh man, that doesn't look so good." Nikki shook her head slowly, "No, it doesn't." She sighed and turned into JC's arms. "But hey, we'll make it through somehow. We're opening a show in Orlando for you guys!" He looked into her green eyes in amazement, "You aren't serious! Oh Lord, that's great, Nik!" He leaned in and gently kissed her.... ~~~~~~~ (July 1999) Nikki sighed, that was then, she thought, that was when my musical career wasn't looking so good, and my personal life was at an all time high. Now she thought back over the last few months, when everything fell apart. First, JC had broken up with her, since when is he afraid of me getting hurt by rumors? she thought bitterly. And that was when Amanda had finally just quit the group. But thankfully she had though to call on Jenny, and their missing pieces were filled. But now she didn't have Josh, The one person who could make her feel totally happy. Totally whole. And, just like that day in 1998, she had just recieved news that Innosense would once again be opening for NSYNC. Only this time, she didn't have him to run to. To tell the good news to. Because he wouldn't care. "Him and his dumb girlfriend." She muttered. "Who?" Veronica asked, plopping down beside her on the lawn. "JC. Who else?" "Girl! Get over him! Dont' you know how many people would kill to go out with you?" "Yeah, but the one person I actually want to want me...... doesn't." Veronica smiled sympathetically, "Yeah, ok. I'll see you later." She walked back to the other three, stopping in front of Mandy, "Your turn." Mandy shook her head, "No. You guys, let's just leave her alone. You can't give her a year to forget five." Jenny nodded in agreement, "Yeah. come on y'all. She's still in shock. His reason was pretty dumb. I don't see him worried about Bobbie getting hurt by..... You know." She gave them meaningful looks. Danay stared at Jenny, then Nikki, then finally the huge NSYNC poster that loomed in the distance, "You all, I have an idea." |
