I need someone to tell me
Someone who really knows
Why is it wrong to think
The way I do.

All of my life my folks told me fighting was bad
My teachers told me that war was bad
The preacher told me all was bad.
Well, I've been had.
Now I don't want to fight
I think that war is bad
And folks hate me
Should I feel sad ?

I need someone to tell me

All of my life I read how this or that makes you sexy.
The movies told me I should want to make love
The whole world is selling it.
So I bought it.
Now my folks tell me I'm bad.
My teachers tell me I'm bad.
The preacher tells me I'm bad.
Well, I've been had.

I need someone to tell me

Why is it wrong to think
The way I do.

All of my life things have been done for me
At home and also at school.
No one ever told me, some day
I would have to tell myself what to do.
So what should I do ?
So I'm a bum
So I'm lazy.
So my mind is hazy.
Should I feel sad ?
