Frank Leslie's Wind energy for experimenters website: About Frank

Ball     Frank Leslie is a retired systems engineer who has long been interested in wind energy converters. He has a BSEE and a Master's degree in Space Technology from Florida Tech.

He started the wind energy competition to interest students in a career in wind energy or other renewable energies.

He is a member of the Sierra Club's Energy Technical Advisory Committee and is Energy Chair of the Sierra Club Turtle Coast Group's Conservation Committee. He and his wife, Jerry, run a Sierra Club volunteer trail maintenance trip for ten days in the Popo Agie Wilderness of west central Wyoming near Lander.

He lives in Palm Bay, Florida, where winds are mild and turbulent, except for hurricanes. His experiments with vertical and horizontal wind turbines are for research as opposed to home power.
