The home above is 28' wide, the rafters are 4x10 cypress 48" on center. The ridge is 6x12. Collar ties are 2x10 with 2-1" bolts at each end. The rear pitch is 5/12 and rafters were raised by hand, the front 12/12 pitch was assisted by a jib off the rears with block and tackle. The home below is full log all the way up. Notice the timbers lining the gable walls preventing settlement and distortion of the roof. This should only be done with dry logs. It's roof system consists of horizontal purlins across the log walls,principle truss and one interior wall. |
