Highlights from March Pastoral Council Meeting

Discussion revolved around the following:

  • Evaluation of the Annual Meeting. Council members felt there was positive dialogue and willingness by parishioners to put forward issues of concern. It was decided that we would go ahead with the inclusion of a meal at next year's annual meeting, as it is a good way to show appreciation to our Parish volunteers as well as contributing to fellowship.

  • Orientation of new Council members was conducted by outgoing Pastoral Council Chair Karen Eisler. This provided an overview of both the service and commitment expectations for our new members as well as a reminder for those with Council Experience. A special thank-you to Karen for her service and leadership the past year.

  • There was considerable discussion around Pro-Life and our responsibility as Catholics to take a stand on this issue. The general consensus was that the most effective way to promote Pro-Life was to maintain public awareness through consistent, positive low key reminders. It is also important for all of us to realize that Pro-Life also applies to the sanctity of life for seniors and those with special needs, not only the unborn.

  • The Legacy Committee will have its final proposal for the conditions surrounding the Legacy fund for approval at the next Council Meeting.

If you wish to become more involved in your Parish, please call the Parish office and leave your name; the Chair of the Committee will contact you. If you're not sure where your service should be directed, phone the Parish office and the staff will review the different committees that can always use more help.

A special thank you to each of you who give your time and talents to insure the needs of the Parish are met, as well as the many needs of those outside our Parish.
