Born in Ceres, Bland County, VA, Alta Maye was a registered nurse. She died of breast cancer after a 17 month fight. She is buried in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Selma, NC.

Billy was born in Selma, NC, and is a banker. After Alta Maye's death, he married Mary Sue Withheld, who has been a wonderful mother to all the children.

Billy and Alta's children are:
1. Alan Thomas (11-Feb-1962) and
2. Phillip Henry (16-Oct-1964).
Alan has a automobile restoration shop. Phil is a graduate of East Carolina University.
