The Development of My Web Site

I first got a computer July 2000. After I  got the courage to jumped on the World Wide Web I  found all the great sites.  After seeing Gold Wing Sites  I to wanted to have my on home page.  I went through a long and hard process of first just learning how to get on the web an navigating around.  Second wanting to know how they did that on the different pages.  I found as I did a lot of research it was templates, frames, HTML,  DHTML, JavaScript's etc etc.etc.  I began trying to absorb all the information I could through books and online tutorials.  Third I had to learn about web hosting and uploading and all  that good stuff.  Thanks to the great geocities at YAHOO I made it on the web with my first page on 1 September 2000.  I have found the old saying the more you learn the more you learn you don't know to be true.  I 'am finally going to sign up for some classes and let the younger D Generation teach this  old Baby Boomer a few things.   Just waiting on the fall semester... Who knows maybe I can get some of them to trade in the Sport Bike and ride a Gold Wing.

I would like to share these pages with you.

As time has pasted I have deleted some pages and some gifs.  You will notice this as you view the screen shots.  Click on image for a larger view.

The Second Page I created.  Just a one pager.  The first page  was very similar.

The Third Page I created.  I started to add frames, music, mouse over scripts with links to other pages. All of this with a lot of HTML, DHTML, and java scripts.

The Seventh Page I created.  The fourth was on the same theme only with the main frame to the right. The fifth and sixth were basically as this one only with different back ground colors and more items in the left and right margins. All of which contained lots of java scripts, HTML, DHTML, frames, links and .js scripts etc. Even had a radio amp.  This site was smoke-in....... Just to much stuff.   Navigation was very confusing.  Files were large and very slow to down load.  Found that more is not always better.

The Eight Page.  What it is today.  My first page not using frames. Lots of the old scripts have been done away with.  I'm starting to do animated gifs. I've  discovered what tables and cells are all about.  First time I've encrypted some scripts. A better Navigation system.  Just a  basic page.  The basic items are still emplace but on a different theme.  First time I've used a enter page.
My site is always evolving as I come up with new ideas and learn new techniques.  I still have a very large learning curve to over come.   On a future update  I will be adding links to the books I have used and several internet resources to find out  "how to do that".  Next site may contain some Perl and CGI scripts maybe even Flash.
