One morning, I arrived home from work, to find a sweet little poem on my computer desktop, that my daughter had wrote & left for me. I just love the poem & thought I would share it here too!
The flowers sing when you pass them, they dance when you are here. When they see you they give a cheer, because you are the girl of their flowery dreams, so lovely, they think you might take a bite of their pedals and let them be your love. By Emily McFarland 1997

Granddad *~
My Granddad, my love,
You gave my heart the peace of a dove,
Your happy & thoughtful ways,
Will be with me throughout my days.
Your eyes as blue as the sky,
They seemed to answer my every "why".
Your heart as big as the world could be,
You taught love for all to see.
As I look back over the past,
I wander how it could have gone so fast.
The laughter and joy in memories past,
Are memories of love that will last and last.
Looking back now,
I stop and ask myself how,
How could it have gone so fast,
Now only part of the past.

My Mother
*~
Never a more beautiful sight have I seen,
Than my mother ~ the enchanted being.
The love that she shares,
Leads me through life's snares.
Her bright shining eyes,
Always, attentive & wise.
Her warm loving smile,
That makes life worth while.
And the wisdom that she holds,
Never could be bought or sold.
It can only be shared by a few,
Who seek love, compassion, & knowledge too.
I love my Mother, my friend,
And will past eternity's end.
For she has gave me more than words can say,
Always loving me along my way.
Mother ~ I thank you from the bottom of my heart,
For being here, right from the start.
You are my Mother, The Queen, my friend,
My love, to you, I'll always send.

Grandma*~
My grandmother would preach & preach,
about the things along life's path, that I might meet.
She taught me to listen with my heart
& let God play the biggest part.
She taught me to see beauty in all things;
but, not to be grasping or to cling.
Her simple ways I will never forget.
She's a bit funny at times, but a lot smarter, I'll bet.
Beauty without glamour, it's as simple as can be.
She taught me to open my heart & from there to see.

Loving You
*~
*Dedicated to my wonderful husband.*
Warmness fills my soul once again,
As you hold me close within.
My soul bathes longingly in the gift you give,
Of living, loving, and letting me live.
Gray clouds whisper silently across the skies,
As I look up & meet your eyes.
A warm smile comes across your face,
And adds to my life a golden lace.
With the blessings of God up above,
His tender mercies & His love,
We will walk together through many a sunrise,
Living & loving all our lives.

Sibling Love
*~
Let's go walking down memory lane,
Where life isn't such a pain.
Let's take the time to play & sing a song,
And let's not work all the whole daylong.
Let's go climb a great big tree,
And talk about what we will be.
I miss the times that we once had,
And in my heart, it makes me sad.
I wish we weren't so far apart ~
Memories like these are truly a lost art.
So, let's promise to stay in touch,
I love you both so very much.
Let's take the time to share and play,
Just one more glorious day.

My husband wrote the next poem & gave it to me in 1984.

Time to Change
*~
Summer is slowly surrendering to the fall & everywhere there's a feeling of anticipation.
Something's waiting to come alive in the cold October wind.
Children bundle up warm & tight.
Winter's coming & there play will slow & die in the snow.
But winter comes & takes the staff that drives the ox in the field, the man from his mind, but worst of all a man from his love.
The hard wind flies across the fields with icy fingers that steal the frantic pacing of summers' nightmare & sets a perfect freeze that shines & waits for night to fall.
You see it's in the night that winters secret lives & breaths.
Two lovers lying in bed embraced in warmth & love, sharing their souls with whispers.
I love you more than you can know ~
Soon we will walk through time together hand in hand & heart to heart ~
That's my promise to you.
I love you princess.
