Before I came to Singapore , I really didn¡¯t have much
knowledge about instructional technology. As soon as we began the course, I was
really fascinated as I thought this would become a very good chance for me to
install myself with the skills and knowledge.
To tell a truth, I
really have learned a lot since the beginning of the course.
For the first time, I learned that compute ring
technology can be widely used in language teaching and enable us to enter into
a new world in which internet provides a vast space for users to know the world
much more better. In that sense, computer and IT technology has become an
incredible factor in human life.So important a technology as computer
technology is, it¡¯s actually not so easy to grasp. In my case, I really
encountered many difficulties and hardships. First of all, I was very poor in
some basic skills on computer, namely typing on the keyboard. Because I was
very slow in typing, I usually could not follow the class. And when I was on line,
I really felt depressed if I just had a look at the others who are doing a
better job than me. However, as I was already on the way to a new world, I
would like to prepare myself for whatever difficulties .So I began to search
truth.
I started with some
basic skills on keyboard in order to familiar myself with fundamental
knowledge. And then I followed the teacher to learn the basic skills in internet.
I may, first of all, sign an e-mail address, which is the first step for me to
benefit from access to different websites
Next
step is to manage the files with the help of all kinds of programs. When I find
some useful information, I will add it to a new folder, which I have created in
advance. And then I will go to a free website field , sign a website address , and
use the Pagewizads or Pagebuilder in www.oocities.org
to create a web-page of myself.
Before I can build
a website of myself ,I have to search some useful information which will be
added to my web-page .Then I go to the next step ,that is, to use search engine
to find useful information. I would choose some useful engine searcher to help
me in searching. Among my favorite is www.singseek.com; www.catcha.com;www.hotbot.lycos.com;www.altavista.com.
After I chose the appropriate
information , I can add it to my folders and then export it to the files in the
free website management box. When everything is ready, I can go on to build a
web page of myself.
