The Fluff Standard
Preamble: A Fluffy is a truly rare breed. There are
only 60 or so in existence. Interbreeding of Fluffies is not recommended, but rather
that Fluffies find other "fluffy material" to mate with. Fluffies are, by
nature, fluffy. They are full of love, kindness, caring, and a sarcastic wit
unmatched in other circles. A true Fluffy has the power of "vibes," a much
sought after trait. Fluffies should be hardy, long-lived, and require very little
sleep. The must be semi-literate, and able to learn to use computers (at least the
e-mail functions). Above all a Fluffy lives and breathes his or her Sheltie babies
and all other furkids. Fluffies are thus sworn to raise 'em, rescue 'em, and nurture
'em 'til do they part.
Body: The body is to be of sufficient substance to
withstand guffaws, hardy-hars, and bear hugs. Chest should be deep enough and
of sufficient width to encompass the huge hearts of true Fluffies. There may
be a slight to noticeable bulge around the middle and/or rear parts from sitting at
the computer instead of exercising.
Forequarters: Arms are to be strong and sinewy.
Fingers especially so, to allow for constant typing. Any weakness of the
wrists, hands, or fingers is to be faulted to the extent it prohibits posting.
Arms should be sufficiently long to provide group or individual hugs to Fluffies
in need.
Rearquarters: Legs must be strong enough to get the
Fluffy to the bathroom, kitchen and computer. Any excessive muscling of the
legs is to be penalized, as it indicates time spent away from the computer.
Head: Head should be well set on the shoulders. It
should be of adequate size to contain a fluffy brain, and this size can vary
greatly depending on the Fluffy in question. Eyes: Eyes should be
slightly bugged, and moderately glassy from staring at the 'puter screen. Eye color
and shape is immaterial.
Ears: ears should be set into the side of the head,
and should not be mistaken for feathers or eggplants or cheeseheads.
Coat and color: Coat should be easily maintained without
the aid of purple or green dyes. Any extreme hairdos should be avoided, as
they take time away from the computer. Colors cover then entire range of the
spectrum, and individuality of color is to be commended. Particularly fluffy would
be any Fluffy sporting a raspberry hairdo.
Temperament: Fluffies are devoutly loyal to their friends
and intensely vengeful with their enemies. Any Fluffy showing fondness for Beavers
or Farkoffs is to be so severely penalized as to be disqualified. Snappiness or
ill-temper in a Fluffy is to be greatly faulted. When viewing a Fluffy, they should
have a special glow about them, caused by the circle of love of which they are all a part.
