Protoman's Megaman Site - This is my shrine to Protoman. It's a pretty big site. But needs a update.

ProtomanWB's RPG Profile - A small page with a profile of a character I use in RPs I play in on MIRC.

Protoman's Sharks Hangout - I love Earthbound, so I created a character for it and his own little world with some editing.

Why Hot Rod and how I got into Transformers

Wow..... it's a long story but here it goes. The year is 1986 and I was 3 years old. One of my older friends was going to see a movie and I taged along with my mom (^_^). This would be a move that would change my life forever. The movie we saw was Transformers the Movie. Now imagine, this young mind, innocent to the rest of the world is introduced to the war of the Autobots and the Decepticons in what most fans say was the most violent of all TF material. It didn't really fase me although even if at the time I didn't know who Optimus Prime was, I felt really bad for him when he died, but he didn't have a impact on me like another character in the movie... yes... his name is Hot Rod. Hot Rod was everything, a young brash kid who didn't care for the rules or the war but he still did his part to help. Maybe it's just a coincidence but the kid that Hot Rod was protecting and best buddies with was named... Daniel..... JUST A THOUGHT! ^_^ Anyhow..... I loved this character and unlike that Optimus Prime fellow I cared what happened to him in the movie, and I didn't even expect it when Hot Rod grabbed the Matrix off of Galvatron and became Rodimus Prime.... that did it for me right there. He was the man. The chosen one. Ok maybe I didn't think that then but in a 3 year olds mind it could be sumed up to "Golly that's neato". Anyhow...

After the movie I wanted everything to do with Transformers, Atari 2600/Nintendo was one of my pastimes but I needed a hobby. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were still going to debut in a year so, it was the world of Transformers at my feet. My dad got me my first Transformers Blaster, he was no Hot Rod but just as cool. I really wanted a Hot Rod but he was hard to find in my area (Also due to that rare targetmaster Hot Rod being out). Aside from Blaster I got a few other Transformers, mainly the micromaster sets, like the Sports Car Patrol, the Rescue Patrol and the Battle Patrol. A few months later at a flee market I got Optimus Prime (G1 gray cab). But still no Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime........

1987 came and so did the Ninja Turtles craze, Transformers was dying at that point and took a bow while Ninja Turtles raided the toy stores, comics and TV shows. Alas, I got caught into it by a friend.

During 1991, Generation 2 came out, I got my chance to see some of the old episodes I missed as a child (seeing how I was introduced to Transformers with season 3 and the movie) but alas generation 2 came and left.... with no new episodes...

In 1992, Power Rangers took the place of the Turtles, at the time I was hardcore into arcades (It was the beginning of the Street Fighter 2 era) and didn't care for the spandex clad fighters with robots that are cheap Transformers wanna-bes (I am wrong of course but this is then).

The year was 1994 and why sitting down infront of the TV on a early Saturday morning waiting for the next episode of Dragonball to come on Fox, a commercial for the first wave of Beast Wars Transformers toys appeared. I jumped out of my seat. New characters and a new story. For some reason I wanted to get the Cheetor toy because it reminded me of Inferno's toy water gun attack (G2). But alas just like Hot Rod, Cheetor was never found in the stores (Blue eye edtion at the time) so I gave up yet again on Transformers.....

In 1995 with the show Reboot under everyones belt, heard of a show called Beasties that would be shown on YTV "From the creators of Reboot", when I heard the name I figured some CG animal kiddie show but was still curious because I won't think Mainframe would jump from something as good as Reboot to that....... When the intro started and I saw these robots left and right flashing on the screen and a fimilar cheetah I knew what this was on the spot...... it was the Beast Wars show... oddly called Beasties TRANSFORMERS. (Stupid YTV censorship confuses me sometimes). I flipped out! Transformers was back and in the newest form of exclusive animation possible (at the time). I was a bit confused with Optimus Primal and Megatron (because I knew them as a Bat and Croc) but alas was still happy. Cheetor was a interesting character that reminded me of Hot Rod a bit.... in the brash, young, immature way. From that point on was my revival and still to this day love of Transformers.

Around the same time I got the internet (28.8 baby!) and began looking for Transformers stuff. I found Benson Yee's site and from there learn more about Transformers and Beast Wars then I ever did before. Me and a close friend who went under the name Optimus Gold posted at Benson Yee's boards almost everyday. I needed a nick in order to post so I decided to create a character. Since Beast Wars was the show at the time, I invented Unibrawn the Maximal Pretender. Corny but it got the job done. From there I created a webpage dedicated to my favorite Transformer ever Hot Rod..... and it was history from there.

...... oh and what of the Hot Rod toy I never got? Well years later my small TF collection of 14 grew to over 500+ and I got Hot Rod, and Rodimus Prime and almost every other TF I ever wanted. I still have my first Blaster to this day with only a little "war damage" one of his ear/antennas are broken. It was quite the journey but it's not even over yet.

I would like to thank Benson Yee for created his site and helping me revive my interest in Transformers, and Joseph W. aka Optimus Gold for being there during my newbie days as a web designer and internet/message board poster.

What are some of my prize TFs to this day (2002)? Well my 1st Blaster, my Star Saber MIB and my Hot Rod are some but I would have to say my Canadian Edition Pepsi Optimus Prime. He is so cool ^_^.

Of course my Rodimus Prime PVC has to be in it ^_^.

All my nicknames in toy form. From left to right, Hot Rod, Deep Six and Protoman (Yes I know Deep Six is a Dirge toy with a seal head put on, I just never had the time to get to the full kitbash ^_^'')

Montreal, Canada is also home of Canada's largest Transformers fandom that ain't complete losers. Here I am with two of the fandoms Pro Black Transformers Society. It's me in the middle with Hot Rod, to the left Wendel James (Known as Red Jazz) with Jazz and to the right is Lee-Jay Robinson (Known as ill_SoNiC) with Blaster. According to them Jazz, Blaster, Rhinox, Tigatron and Rapid Run (from RID) are all "black" Transformers. Heheh I ain't one to disagree with that idea.
