INTRODUCTION.

Water baptism is one of those doctrines in the bible that is mis-understood. However, our lord has commanded his apostles to go into all the countries of the world, and to tell the people the good new. Those who believe the good news must be baptize. Baptism speak of the death, and resurrection, of Christ. John was one of the first to use water baptism for religious reason. However, it is said that baptism was used in Israel long before John. For marital purposes. IT is said that a father would baptism the groom, which is a sign that he was now a part, or a member of the family. The groom was not just a son in-law. He was now a son. One form of baptism was to make the person kneel down, and seven bucket of water was poured out on his head. Another form was immersion. Then sprinkling.

St Matthew 3:13-AV Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. Matthew 3:14-AV But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? Matthew 3:15-AV And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer [it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. Matthew 3:16-AV And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Matthew 3:17-AVAnd lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased)( The Bible do not leave us in any darkness as to the meaning of this doctrine. Any time a person is truly converted he or she will want to be baptized as soon as possible

Acts 8:12. Acts 8:36-AV And as they went on [their] way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, [here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? Acts 8:37-AV And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Acts 8:38-AV And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

WHAT DOES WATER BAPTISM SIGNIFIED?

Baptism speaks of Christ death, burial and resurrection. By baptizing, the person has publicly identified his or her self with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The person is symbolically saying" I believe, and accept it"

Romans 6:3-AV Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Romans 6:4-AV Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:5-AV For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also [in the likeness] of [his] resurrection:

Colossians 2:12-AV Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Galatians 3:27-AV For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

WHAT OR WHOSE NAME SHOULD A PERSON BAPTIZE IN?

Whose name should you be baptized in? Does it really matter?

1 John 5:7-AV For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:8-AV And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

THE JEWS BELIEVE GOD HAVE A SON.

However, they do not believe that the (Jesus)Ioshua who Paul preach is the son of God. There was many so call Jesus in those days, going about.

Proverbs 30:1-AV The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, [even] the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal, Proverbs 30:2-AV Surely I [am] more brutish than [any] man, and have not the understanding of a man. Proverbs 30:3-AV I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy. Proverbs 30:4-AV Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what [is] his name, and what [is] his son's name, if thou canst tell?

Daniel 3:25-AV He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

1 Corinthians 1:17-AV For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

BAPTISM IN JESUS NAME.

Both God and Jesus have several names in the bible, which one of those names should we baptize a person in. Jesus is called "prince of peace" Lion of the tribe of Judah" some forty names. As you read on you will see what it mean. Jesus have several names, so which one of those name should a church uses? To pronounce a name over the person when baptizing them was not the main point here. The main point is that they recognize Jesus and what he has done to purchase our salvation. That we recurnise God who sent his son to die for us. That we reconize the Holy Spirit who will take up where Christ left off, and comfort, guide, give us the victory, and finally take us out of this world in the rapture.

Five Names of the Messiah

[his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace] "His name shall be call" Not his title shall be call, but his name"

"His name, His name, not his title, his name, look and read.

1.Wonderful. Hebrew: pele (HSN-6382), a miracle; a marvelous thing; wonderful. Translated wonder (Isaiah 29:14; Exodus 15:11; Psalm 77:11-15; Psalm 88:10-12; Psalm 89:5; Daniel 12:6); wonderful (Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 25:1; Psalm 119:129); wonderfully (Lament. 1:9); and marvelous things (Psalm 78:12). 2.Counsellor. Hebrew: ya€ats (HSN-3289), advise; consult; to deliberate; guide. Translated "counsellor" 22 times. This name expresses the idea that He is the Supreme Counselor—the one who is qualified to give counsel and advice to all created beings. 3.The mighty God. Hebrew: gibbowr (HSN-1368), powerful; mighty; strong; champion; chief, and El (HSN-410), Almighty; the Strong One. It literally means the Mighty Almighty, or the conquering God. One of many places where the Messiah is called "God" (Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1; John 20:28; Romans 9:5; 1 Tim. 3:16; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 5:20). 4.The everlasting Father—the Father of eternity; the Planner of the ages; and Father of all time (Hebrews 1:2). It does not mean that Jesus the Messiah is the one known as God, the Father, the first person of the Trinity, for He is another person. See The Trinity. 5.The Prince of Peace—the Peaceful Prince. He shall promote and increase His government and peace without wars (Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 2:2-4).

Acts 2:38-AV Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:39-AV For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call. Acts 2:40-AV And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

It does not matter which baptism your church chooses to use. In the Apostles' time, they stressed baptism in Jesus's name because the Jews, and Gentiles of the time did not believe that the Jesus the apostles were presenting to them, was indeed the son of God. They believed that God had a son, but they did not believe that this Jesus was that son. Prov 30:4.

That is why baptizing in Jesus name was brought in. To be sure the people understood, the apostles had to pronounce the name of Jesus over them.

But that does not rule out what Jesus taught in St Matthew 28:19-AV Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

BAPTISM IN FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT?

Matthew 28:16-AV Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. Matthew 28:17-AV And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. Matthew 28:18-AV And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Matthew 28:19-AV Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:20-AV Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen. In the days when the scriptures were written, Father was a name.

Isaiah 9:6-AV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace

Jesus, and Peter are not in conflict, they are fighting the same enemy from opposite sides. Jesus is refereed to as a title in ST John 19:19. Matthew 28:19 a[therefore ...] In view of My authority, I commission you with full power of attorney to carry on the work that I have started (note, ?John 16:23). Great Commission Fourfold: 1.Go. This applies to all believers, not only preachers. The invitation to salvation is for all alike, so why should not the responsibility of getting the invitation to others be for all alike? We have the same rights, privileges, promises, and provision for equipment for service, so all should help in every possible way to evangelize the world according to our ability and direction from God. There is no excuse for millions of church members leaving this work to only a few who seek to obey the Great Commission.

WHAT BAPTISE IN THE NAME MEAN?

"In the name of" This means "by the authority of." Here it means by the authority of all three persons and not by the authority of Jesus only. He is the one authorizing us to recognize the others as well as Himself. This will help us to understand Acts 2:38; Acts 8:16; Acts 10:48; Acts 19:5. It is by the authority of Jesus Christ that we baptize at all, and it is by His authority that we baptize in the name of (by the authority of) all three persons.

IS FATHER A NAME?

[Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost] Some argue that these are not names, but the dictionary says that the word name is "any word" or "title" by which any person or thing is known. This is not just any Father, any Son, or any Holy Ghost, but it is the Father of Jesus Christ, and the Son of the Father, and the Holy Ghost, the third person of the Divine Trinity. Any Bible reader would know who these three persons are if mentioned by these names in any scripture.

HIS NAME SHALL BE CALL:

[his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace] Five Names of the Messiah 1.Wonderful. a miracle; a marvelous thing; wonderful. Translated wonder (Isaiah 29:14; Exodus 15:11; Psalm 77:11-15; Psalm 88:10-12; Psalm 89:5; Daniel 12:6); wonderful (Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 25:1; Psalm 119:129); wonderfully (Lament. 1:9); and marvelous things (Psalm 78:12). 2.Counsellor. advise; consult; to deliberate; guide. Translated "counsellor" 22 times. This name expresses the idea that He is the Supreme Counselor-the one who is qualified to give counsel and advice to all created beings.

The mighty God. powerful; mighty; strong; champion; chief, and Almighty; the Strong One. It literally means the Mighty Almighty, or the conquering God. One of many places where the Messiah is called "God" (Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1; John 20:28; Romans 9:5; 1 Tim. 3:16; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 5:20). 4.The everlasting Father-the Father of eternity; the Planner of the ages; and Father of all time (Hebrews 1:2). It does not mean that Jesus the Messiah is the one known as God, the Father, the first person of the Trinity, for He is another person.

The Prince of Peace-the Peaceful Prince. He shall promote and increase His government and peace without wars (Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 2:2

Sixteen Jehovah Titles

"Lord God" in Genesis 2:4 This is the first of hundreds of occurrences of this title. It means the self-existent or Eternal Creator, the 'Elohiym in covenant relationship with His people. Jehovah really means the Eternal, the Immutable One, He who was, and is, and is to come (Genesis 21:33; Exodus 3:13-14; Exodus 6:3; Psalm 83:18; Isaiah 12:2; Isaiah 26:4; Rev. 1:4). The name Jehovah is combined with other words which form what we know as the Jehovah titles: 1.Jehovah-Elohiym-the Eternal Creator (Genesis 2:4-25) 2.Adonai-Jehovah-the Lord our Sovereign; Master Jehovah (Genesis 15:2,8) 3.Jehovah-Jireh-the Lord will see or provide (Genesis 22:8-14) 4.Jehovah-Nissi-the Lord our banner (Exodus 17:15) 5.Jehovah-Rapha-the Lord our healer (Exodus 15:26) 6.Jehovah-Shalom-the Lord our peace (Judges 6:24) 7.Jehovah-Tsidqenuw-the Lord our righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6; Jeremiah 33:16) 8.Jehovah-Mekaddishkem-the Lord our sanctifier (Exodus 31:13; Leviticus 20:8; Leviticus 21:8; Leviticus 22:9,16,32; Ezekiel 20:12) 9.Jehovah-Sabaoth-the Lord of hosts (1 Samuel 1:3; etc., 284 times) 10.Jehovah-Shammah-the Lord is present (Ezekiel 48:35) 11.Jehovah-Elyown-the Lord Most High (Psalm 7:17; Psalm 47:2; Psalm 97:9) 12.Jehovah-Rohi-the Lord my Shepherd (Psalm 23:1) 13.Jehovah-Hoseenu-the Lord our Maker (Psalm 95:6) 14.Jehovah-Eloheenu-the Lord our God (Psalm 99:5,8,9) 15.Jehovah-Eloheka-the Lord thy God (Exodus 20:2,5,7) 16.Jehovah-Elohay-the Lord my God (Zech. 14:5)

SPRINKLING.

John 3:23-AV And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

sprinkling is justifiable whenever there not much water. however, if a person understand the principle of water baptism. A spoon full of water could be use to baptize them. The same way how we take "Holy Communion" We today only use a little piece of bread, because we understand the principle, however, during the apostles time, people came to eat, and drink until they were full. The apostles have to tell them that if they are hungry they must eat at home.

SUPPOSE I DIE BEFORE I AM BAPTIZE?

Did you get the chance to be baptized? Did you cancel a baptism? If you did, you were not ready. The thief on the cross

St Luke 23:43. Did not have time to be baptized, and he did not need to be baptize, since Christ did not died as yet. But a believer who is not ready for baptism is neither ready for heaven.

DO I HAVE TO BE BAPTIZE IN A RIVER?

No, you do not need to be baptize in a river. You do it where there is enough water. River, sea, pond are lake. Any where there is enough water.

DOES BAPTISM SAVE A SOUL?

1Peter 3:21-AV The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

SPIRIT BAPTISM PLUS WATER BAPTISM.

There are many form of baptism that Christians will have to go through. Even though the bible speak of one baptism. There are seven kind. There is the spirit baptism, water baptism. And baptism by fire, which signified persecutions.

Ephes. 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, Matthew 3 abaptized] Greek: baptizo (GSN-907), from bapto (SN-911), to dip (Luke 16:24; Rev. 19:13; John 13:26); to overwhelm with suffering (Matthew 20:22-23; Luke 12:50); to bury into (Romans 6:3-7; Col. 2:12), regardless of the element used. Acts 8:38 Seven Baptisms in Scripture: 1.John's baptism in water (Matthew 3; Mark 1; Luke 3; Luke 7:29-30; John 1:31-33; John 3:23- 26; John 10:40; Acts 1:5; Acts 11:16; Acts 19:3) 2.Christ's baptism in water (John 3:22; John 4:1-2) 3.Baptism in suffering (Luke 12:50) 4.Baptism in the cloud and in the sea (1 Cor. 10:2) 5.Christian baptism in water (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38-41; Acts 8:12- 16,36-38; Acts 9:18; Acts 10:47-48; Acts 16:15,33; Acts 18:8; Acts 19:5; Acts 22:16; 1 Cor. 1:13-17; 1 Peter 3:21) 6.Baptism into Christ and into His body (Romans 6:3-7; 1 Cor. 12:13; Galatians 3:27; Col. 2:12) 7.Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11,14; Matthew 20:22-23; Mark 1:8; Mark 10:38-39; Luke 3:16; John 1:33; John 7:37-39; Acts 1:5; Acts 11:16; Acts 19:2-3)

Three Baptisms for Believers:

1.Into Christ or into His body at repentance and the new birth (pt. 6, above). Called "one baptism" (Ephes. 4:5), because it is the only baptism that saves the soul and brings into the body of Christ. 2.Water baptism after one is saved Matthew 3:11) 3.Spirit baptism, the enduement of power for service. It can take place before water baptism (Acts 10:44-48) or after it (Acts 1:4-8; Acts 2:1-11; Acts 8:12-21; Acts 19:1- 7).The Holy Spirit is the agent to baptize into Christ and into His body (1 Cor. 12:13); Christ is the agent to baptize in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11; John 1:31-33); and the minister is the agent to baptize into water (Matthew 28:19). Some Christians received the spirit baptism before the water baptism. Acts 10:47-AV Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

St Matthew 3:11-AV I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and [with] fire:

Mark 1:4-AV John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Mark 16:14-AV Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. Mark 16:15-AV And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:16-AV He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Matthew 3:4-AV And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. Matthew 3:5-AV Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, Matthew 3:6-AV And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

BAPTISM MUST FALLOW REPENTANCE.

repentance mean to change one's mind, and not necessarily one's life. Acts 2:38-AV Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:41-AV Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added [unto them] about three thousand souls.

INFIDELS ARE SOMETIME BAPTIZED ALONG WITH THE FAITHFUL.

Acts 8:12-AV But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Acts 8:13-AV Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. Acts 8:18-AV And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Acts 8:19-AV Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. Acts 8:20-AV But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Acts 8:21-AV Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Acts 8:22-AV Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. Acts 8:23-AV For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and [in] the bond of iniquity. Acts 8:24-AV Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

THE EUNUCH WAS BAPTIZED IN THE DESERT.

Acts 8:34-AV And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Acts 8:35-AV Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. Acts 8:39-AV And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

THE PLACE A PERSON BAPTIZE DOES NOT MATTER.

Acts 16:30-AV And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? Acts 16:31-AV And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:32-AV And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. Acts 16:33-AV And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed [their] stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. Acts 16:34-AV And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

IT DOES NOT STOP HERE

It is important to know that baptism is just the beginning, and we must move on from there to a practical Christian living of brotherly love.

CONCLUSION.

Therefore, As we comes to the end of this book. It is important to know that we must not stop here but move on. Water baptism is only the beginning. We have work to do. Souls are going to hell. Our job is to save some of them. Let us go out into the field, and work. We must remember the word of our lord" Lift up your eyes, and look, behold the field are white to the harvest" . THE END.
