Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) was developed by Intel in 1996 as a way to enhance the performance and speed of the graphics card connected to a PC. AGP 8X is the specification for the next-generation AGP interface. Like AGP 4X, it implements a 32-bit wide bus, but the new specification allows a doubling of speed to 533 MHz and supports a data rate of 2,133 MB/s. Some AOpen motherboards, with bandwidth of 2,133 MB/s offered by AGP 8X, enable users to enjoy great graphical experience, especially in 3D gaming.
