1/72 Magna Single Pioneer  Brian Param

The Single Pioneer was used in Malaysia in the early 1960tees as a communciation and medivac aircraft. It did alot of duties such as supply of forward areas, medivac, communciation flights and etc. They were used by No 2 Sqn and were based in Kuala Lumpur Station.

This is my single pioneer magna multimedia kit, finished off in Malaysian colours, decals oob except for the FM codes screwed it up.......Aidy helped print me a replacment thanks........ The build was what one can expect with multimedia kits...sanding, test fiting and cross checking with the plans, all in all the vacform canopy was the hard part, getting it to line up with the fusalage. Mangna provide good tips on how to achieve the wings onto the canopy, white glue and a make shift jig .I did that flood white glue under the wings and let it dry for 24hrs then, fill the top with white glue and superglue...i opted for putty and superglue.

The desgin is quite well planned actually....the magna kit....to other bugger was to mask the windows on the vacform as my vacform was clear with no guides..... Overall I would say that magna has done a good job....good instructions, good breakdown of parts and etc... For the dusty look on the wheels, I thinned down gunze flat earth colour actually just three squarts of an eyedropper in thinner and air brushed it on...in layers hope you like.........Click on images for larger image.
