Ramblings | ||||||||||||
Ramblings 10/21/2004 Wow, I feel like crap today.....but I still feel about 10 million times better than a Yankees fan. Oooh, was that a low blow to anyone? I'd sure hope not, I don't want to be associated with a fan of the Yankees newly hexed with the "Curse of A-Rod". Hey 112, good luck with that. ????????????????????????I really need to do some homework, last week I put it off until Sunday night, then I watched all of Sunday night football until I remebered the Yankees and Red Sox. It was the bottom of the 9th when I switched it on and I watched til it ended at 12:30. Then I started my homework. I got 'R dun though. Never under any circumstances install the windows update "Windows Service Pack 2" It is as close to death as you can come with a computer and still revive it, believe me. I could do nothing last night after installing it. It is supposed to solve problems with internet explorer, but I couldn't even change pages without a lockup. I finally said, "Screw this" ...OK, maybe I used a slightly stronger term...and deleted the hell out of it. By the way, I just poped open #2. Think about it, and I am sure you'll understand. As I've mentioned before, my roommate this semester is from Holland. When the baseball playoffs started, he couldn't understand why I hated the Yankees. After watching a few games, namely game 6 of the ALCS, he started to agree with me. When A-Rod knocked the ball out of Arroyo's hand as they ran toward first base, he yelled, "he can't do that!" Now he hates the Yankees as well, and who knows, maybe all it took was one more anti-Yankees fan to turn the tide so Boston could eliminate them from title contention. You know I'd hate to take all of the credit, but I understand if you wish to shower me with gifts in thanks. Hey if the Packers keep playing like they did against the Lions, they just might have a chance to turn the season around. Has anyone watched the Miami Dolphins play this season? I never thought I would say this, but I think Tim Couch would be an improvement. "Apparently Koren Robinson is going to be suspended four games for a third violation on the league substance abuse policy which is a bit of a surprise to me because I can’t believe he can hold on to a joint long enough to take a hit off the thing." http://www.footballoutsiders.com/articles.php?p=1891 Something tells me I won't accomplish anything productive tonight. Oh wait, that's right. I never do....that must be why. .One more note on the Yankees and Red Sox. Game 7: Why in the world did Francona bring Pedro in in the 7th inning with a 7 run lead? The crowd was completely out of the game, and all of a sudden cries of , "Who's your daddy?" rang throughout Yankee Stadium. Was he trying to lose it? That was the only possible explanation I could come up with. When you are trying to beat a "curse" that has lasted 86 years already, you DO NOT tempt fate. I had a World Civilizatio II exam this afternoon. Wasn't too bad, in fact I think I did better than last time.....except on the first page. 27 points possible on 3 questions, and I will be happy with 12 or 13. Each was worth 9 points, and I knew absolutely nothing for 2 of them. I pulled crap out of my ass and smeared it on the page (well not literally, but that may have been more accurtate). Did you know that Muhammad Ali was the leader of Egypt in the 1850's and he led them to be the #1 country in cotton production? I did.(What's funny is that this is true.) Well, I guess I've written enough for this week, so I'll let you all get back to more important things. I know I should, but that will never happen. Oh wait, yes it will......the baseball game just started. Astros and Cardinals. Game 7....Does it get any better than this? Yeah I guess so.....I could have a beer.....wait, I can make that happen........Good night from P-ville! By the way, I have no idea what is going on with the question marks through everything....its not me, that's all I konw. 10/13/2004 Damn Yankees. Yeah, I'm not even going to go there. They got me more frustrated than a deaf mute playing BINGO, getting BINGO and trying to yell out the word BINGO. Whew! Excuse me......man that smells. Hope you don't smell it there. Hey ya'll, I recently earned/received a 95% on both my Manufacturing Processes and and my Mechanisms and Machines exams. I'll take this opportunity to thank you for the bow I know I am receiving from you at the moment. Hey COOL T-SHIRT ALERT: ATF:Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.......Sounds like a party. Who's bringing the chips? Remember last week how I mentioned the Power Rangers/Ghostbusters crossover? Well I looked into that a little this week, and OH MY GOD.....some people have a lot of time on their hands. Check out www.fanfiction.net There are several thousand stories, or fan fictions as I see they are called for many cartoons, tv series, and movie. By far the largest collection is of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.......how many you ask? How about 24077. That is right 5 digits. Hey Pedro.....who's your daddy? I am so sick of this comment already. The guy is a nutcase, let it die. My God, it still reeks in here. What the hell did I eat? "Son when participating in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose, it's how drunk you get." Homer Simpson Dude, Pixystix kick ass. However, in an emergency or times of financial sensibility, sugar packets are nearly as good. ??????????????????????????????????????In a pinch, cd's make great coasters. I'm using one right now. One guess as to what is on it. Sorry wrong answer, it is Kool-Aid. I haven't ordered a pizza for like 3 weeks. That needs to change. I also need to remove the Christmas music from my computer. I swear, those 10 songs come on every third or fourth song I play. Enough is enough, its has to stop. On October 4th did anyone ask you the date? If so, you missed the opportunity to answer, "10-4 Good Buddy" Hey, the Bucks are winning their preseason game against Minnesota tonight. That's pretty much all I know. ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Well, I guess that's it for this week. I have been lost in deep thought for the last 30 minutes, and cannot think of anything else suitable to be written in this space. One more thing: WWJDD-What Would Johnny Damon Do?----A popular Boston Red Sox fan shirt. Git 'R Dun???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????a???nd? ????????G??o?o??d?? ????n??ight from P-ville. ? 1 10/7/2004 Well after a futile three weeks, I am giving up my predictions of exact final NFL scores. It was just too much damn work to type it in every week, and I was never very close anyway. Hey 112, better wait a few years on that one. You know what I mean. Stupid Yankees had to win game two of their series with the Twins Wednesday night. I even managed to watch all the way to the 11th inning when the Twins homered in the top half of the inning, I thought, "Oh great. Now they'll give up two in the bottom half to lose it." Then I remembered the Twins are not the Brewers, they maybe, just maybe, could hold a lead. Unfortunately , I was wrong. Remember the Rally Monkey? If not, you should.....He's Back! And stronger than ever in Anaheim. Thought of a great T-shirt idea relating to that today: "More fun than beating the Rally Monkey with a Thunderstick" C'mon, that is good, isn't it? The Braves beat the Astros in extra innings this afternoon. That's all I have to say about that right now. Back when a ho was a hoe. Coke was a Coke. Cracks what you were doing when you were cracking jokes. Back when a screw was a screw. The wind was all that blew, and when you said "I'm down with that" It meant you had the flu. I miss back when. I miss back when. I miss back when. I really like that song right now. It is called "Back When" by Tim McGraw. ??Did anyone know that there are stories on the internet creating a crossover between the Ghostbusters and the Power Rangers? Stranger still is what search revealed this information to me: "New Holland Forage Harvester" I know you all see the obvious connection. Granted it was like 6 or 7 pages in on a Google search, but still, where did that come from. I'm going to stick to this topic for a while since I have nothing of importance to mention. First off, how does it dawn on someone to create this crossover? Yes, I happen to have watched both shows for a significant period, with Power Rangers premiering shortly after the end of Ghostbuster. So maybe someone really liked both. I guess that is possible. Still, I see a few logistics problems. The ghostbusters reside in New York, and I do not recall an episode in which they left the city. The Power Rangers on the other hand were in sunny California. They are over 3000 miles apart, so how do they hook up? Perhaps a few of these questions were answered in the story, but who has time or the desire to read? Has it occurred to anyone that an entire new generation is growing up without "Baywatch"? Kids today are missing out on one of the best concepts ever created for a show. There was no plot, no unecessary thinking required, just straight up chicks in bathing suits with the occasional shirtless male to keep women from demanding the show be cancelled. They even had the standard 20 minute musical interlude every episode to avoid the obligated feeling to add dialogue. I was thinking the other day, but it hurt so I quit. Seriously, I was thinking and tried to figure out how many people I have seen from my graduating class at Campbellsport since graduation. Now take a guess to yourself. Remember there were like 135 or so students. Ready for the answer? 24. That's right, 24 people. And when I say I've seen 24 people, I mean literally that. I SAW just 24 of my classmates since June 2002. By saw I mean I looked in a direction saw and recognized the person....that is it...not talked to. Now I would imagine that several of my classmates saw more than that at one time on possibly several occasions. If you don't count the one's I see here in Platteville and the ones I saw once at the Campbellsport Foundation Scholarship Dinner, the total is down to a meager 16. As I stated in a previous edition, if you would like to share email addresses with me check out my email listings page and see if you can add to my addresses. I have about 10, so I would bet someone has one to someone I know but don't have an address for. Thank you and good night. |
