By Candace Davies

Here are some extra tips on resume writing. These are a few things that many people seem to forget as they desperately try to create a unique, powerful resume that will demand attention.

There are many things not to do when developing a resume - for the purpose of this page - here are some hiring executives' and managers' pet peeves:

Content - job seekers that leave out dates. Some have an invalid email address.

Accomplishments - no accomplishments listed or no indication when the accomplishments occurred. Also, using language and vocabulary that makes the job seeker look qualified, when in reality, they don't even come close.

Visual - applicants that include photos, fancy fonts, and graphics. Don't do it - it is annoying.

Grammar, Technical - documents that include typos, spelling errors, fluff content, and poor grammar.

Lack of Organization - too long - two pages or more for entry level. Poor organization and lack of focus. Lying about gaps in employment.
