| 2. PORT WASHINGTON'S "BOOBOOSHAW' LEGEND What ever it was, this legend goes back to the late 1960s through the mid 1970s. It was called the "Boobooshaw" or pronounced that way. It was supposed to be a black creature or figure that would lurk in the back yards, and roads in Port Washington at night, never seen in the daytime. If little boys and girls did not behave, the Boobooshaw was going to get them! No one knows where this creature came from, one rumor that it came off of a coal ship docked by the Wisconsin Electric power plant in the 1960s. So where is it now? Maybe it died off or it was just a rumor to scare little children who did not behave. |
