30th Star, Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua’s acclaimed Wisconsin musical history is a grand “song witness” account celebrating 150 years of Wisconsin statehood.  A multimedia production, the show recounts Wisconsin history with songs, dramatic readings, storytelling and hundreds of historical photographs drawn from archives and collections around the state.  30th Star is a rich, broad, and high-spirited account of the people, places, events, influences, politics, and resources of Wisconsin.

Welcome to the world of Once Upon a Time.  It is a world of Princesses and wolves, golden geese and glass slippers.  It is the world of Brothers Grimm and their stories-stories that have been handed down for more than a century to generation upon generation of children and brought to life in movies and plays and dozens of storybooks.  The Minneapolis Children’s Theatre Company brings to life these beloved tales in a new light, while allowing the spirit of the stories to stay the same, and end with happily ever after.

Take a vibrant journey through the streets of Harlem. Streets full of life, language, history, rhythm, and music merging into an exciting blend of poetry jazz and art telling the tales of the people of Harlem.  Building upon the words of Walter Dean Myers the award-winning book Harlem, the stories are expanded by the artwork of Christopher Myers, the script by Bill Gimmette and the jazz music of Kysia Bostic to create an incredible piece of theater.

 

Mermaid Theater of Nova Scotia—The Very Hungry Caterpillar & The Very Quiet Cricket

Through the use of spectacular puppets, The Very Hungry Caterpillar tells the tale of the hungry caterpillar’s progress through an amazing variety of food towards his eventual metamorphosis into a butterfly.  An unofficial ‘sequel’ to the story, The Very Quiet Cricket, follows the quest of a little cricket that yearns to find his own voice.
