EOSTRE
Eostre, sound a bit familiar? That is because this Anglo Saxon Goddess, has a sabbat named after her, Ostara, and the Christian holiday of Easter. One of her legends contributes to the beginnings of our Easter Bunny. She was introduced to the Celts when the Saxon's invaded Britain and brought this Sabbat goddess with them. Eostre is a goddess of Spring, new beginnings, rebirth and fertility. "Estrus" which means "fertile period" is the word for animal menustration which is associated with her name.
