GIFT SACHET Make a little scented sachet to give as a gift, or to place in a clothes drawer or wardrobe to delicately fragrance your clothes. The scent may last up to a year. Cut two equal squares of fabric. With right sides together, stitch three sides together, and part of the fourth. Turn and fill the centre with pot pourri. Stitch along the fourth edge to seal in the sachet. Sew a lace trimming around the edges, and then carefully and neatly sew a ribbon border around the sachet ~ starting at the corner and leaving enough ribbon so that when you have finished the ribbon trim, it may be tied into a pretty bow at the corner. SACHET FILLINGS: Stronger, long-lasting fragrances are best to use in your sachet. Try a mix of some of these: pinks frankincense cloves peonies lemon balm grated lemon coriander violets roses nutmeg ground orris root |
