| THE MAGIC OF HERBS Audrey Wynne Hatfield The book title, when referring to the 'magic' of herbs, is not referring at all to the Craft or Magick...it is a very small book published by 'Corgi (mini-books)' in 1970, that lists herbs and how they may be used in herbal remedies. However, it has been an invaluable reference source for me ~ listing the herbs and where they grow, what they look like, and suggested uses. Any Witch who likes to grow or pick her own herbs, and wishes to do it a lot, should invest in a book like this. I prefer the older books ~ I do have one publication that dates back a lot further than 1970; but it has to be taken into consideration, that a lot more about herbs has been re-discovered in the past 100 years or so, and the older a book is, the less likely that it will list some of the more recent herbs we seem to use. On the flip-side of this, a lot of the older books will list herbs and uses that have long since 'died out'. Pick a book that you feel best encompasses or compliments the way you follow your Path. |
