mood lifting, and relaxation.

Citronella's main benefit is in its smell.
It's lemony, slightly sweet aroma works
as a natural insect repellant that can be used
in lotions, sprays, oils, pet collars and candles
for keeping away insects.
It has been used in commercial products
in the 19th century.

The oil for Citronella is extracted
from Citronella grass or "grass of china"
through steam distillation which is native
to Java, Central America and Haiti.

The oil is derived from the citrosa plant,
a cross between citronella grass and
African geranium and catnip.
The citrosa plant has long been known
by African and Native American
tribes to repel mosquitoes and other insects.
