OAT RECIPES
Oatmeal Bath Blend
Ingredients:
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup warm water
1/2 cup baking soda
Pour the oatmeal in the blender alone and process
until it's almost a powder.
Dump it into a bowl and add the baking soda and water.
Mix it into a paste and pour under running water
in the bathtub for a soothing bath.
Optional: 3-4 drops essential oil
- lavender, rose geranium, or rose is nice..
Oatmeal Milk Bath
Ingredients:
1 cup baking soda
2 cups dry milk powder
1/2 cup oatmeal (ground finely)
Combine all ingredients in a blender until mixed.
Keep in a glass jar with a lid.
Add 1/2 cup to hot bath water.
Oatmeal facial mask:
Mix oatmeal (ground or regular) and
a little bit of honey.
Mix and apply it to your face.
Leave on till it dries; then just wash
it off gently with warm water and a washcloth.
Simple Oatmeal Soap
Ingredients:
1/2 cup ground oatmeal
1/2 cup soap shavings
1 1/2 tablespoons sweet almond or olive oil
1 tablespoon water
Place soap shavings in a plastic bag,
and pound them into smaller pieces.
Place the soap in a blender, add oatmeal,
and process until mixture it's "grainy" in texture.
Pour it into a bowl and remove any larger pieces.
Add the oil and water, then "knead" it
to mix and form it into a firm ball.
Set it aside for at least 2 hours until it dries.
(You can use leftover soap that you've grated
--- small sample bars can be used too as loong as
the fragrances don't clash.
