~ Witch Hazel and Herb Body Toner ~
Take a 1.1 ratio of herbs to witch hazel
{unless prefer to use your own infusion, or check
with your local pharmacy for witch hazel
made with distilled water}.
Place the ingredients in an airtight jar and leave
at room temperature for 2 weeks.
Strain through coffee filters or muslin and bottle.
Here are some herbal combinations
that you may wish to try:
*Lavender buds, Rosemary and Mint
*Lavender buds, Rosemary, Peppermint leaves,
Comfrey leaves, Rose petals and Thyme
*Peppermint, Lemon verbena, Sage,
Rosemary and Comfrey
~ Under Eye Oil ~
2 tsp Sweet Almond oil
½ tsp Jojoba oil
3 drops Carrot seed oil
Mix well. Apply before bedtime.
Essential oils that are believed
to 'help' with wrinkles:
Frankincense oil, Myrrh oil, Neroli oil, Rose oil,
Patchouli oil, Clary Sage oil,Lavender oil.
Add two or three drops to the recipe above.
~ Basic Lotion ~
1 ounce solid fat { Shea butter, Cocoa butter, etc.}
3 ounces skin oil { almond, olive, ect.}
2 ounces. Rosewater { or herbwater of your choice}
5 drops oil of Rose or 5 drops essential oil of your choice
Melt the solid oil in a double boiler.
Add the oil and Rosewater alternately,
a bit at a time, stirring continuously.
Remove from heat.
Add essential oil and stir in completely.
Pour into a 6 - 8 ounce bottle.
Shake almost continuously until cooled.
~ Fresh Lemon After Bath Splash ~
½ cup 100 proof Vodka
½ tsp Lemon Fragrance Oil
1 tsp Glycerine
Combine all ingredients in a bottle and shake
gently until well blended.
~ Milk and Honey Bath Potion ~
1 whole egg
½ cup mineral oil
2 tsp liquid dish soap
¼ cup 100 proof Vodka
2 Tbs Honey
½ cup whole milk
Essential oil for fragrance of your choice
Put all ingredients in blender and process
for 30 seconds.
Place in decorative squeeze bottle and label.
Use 1 - 2 tablespoons in bath.
~ Refreshing Pore Cleanser Facial Steam ~
3 cups distilled water
1 tsp Yarrow
1 tsp Sage or Rosemary
1 tsp Peppermint
Good for normal and oily skin.
Use once to twice per week, follow with a moisturizer.
yields - 1 treatment
Boil the 3 cups distilled water.
Remove from heat and add the herbs to
steep, with the lid on the pot, for about 5 minutes.
Now, place the pot of herbs in a safe,
stable place where you can sit
comfortably for 10 minutes.
Use a bath towel to create a tent over your head,
shoulders, and steaming herb pot.
With your eyes closed, breathe
deeply and relax as you cleanse your pores
with this wonderful, fragrant steam.
Important Note:
Please allow 8 to 10 inches
between the steaming herb pot and your face
so you will not risk burning your skin!
Rinse with tepid, then cool, water.
Follow up with a mask and then a moisturizer.
~ Skin Lightening Hand Pack ~
2 Tbs ground Oatmeal
1 Tbs plain Yogurt
1 tsp any quality oil
2 tsp fresh Pineapple, lemon, or strawberry juice
Good for sun-damaged, dry,
unevenly colored hands.
Can be used twice per week.
Follow with moisturizer that contains a sunscreen.
Mix with spoon and in a small bowl.
yields - 1 treatment
This leaves hands soft and smooth.
Combine ingredients to form
a paste and allow to thicken for 1 minute.
If too thick, add a bit of water to thin 'slightly.'
Apply mixture to back of hands and allow
to dry for 15 to 30 minutes.
Rinse with cool water.
Pat almost dry and apply
a good moisturizer or sunscreen.
~ Avocado Facial Mask ~
2 Tbs of mashed Avocado
2 Tbs of ground Oats
1 Tbs of Honey
Combine all ingredients together
with a fork in a small glass bowl.
Apply to clean face and neck
with fingertips in a circular motion,
avoiding eye area.
Leave on face/neck for 10 - 15 minutes.
Rinse with cool water and gently
pat dry with towel.
Makes enough for one application.
